AssocList values

Post by ColinMc »

I'm creating a Auto-Text template for a Canadian Marriage. This one has a section for witnesses as shown below:-

As far as I can see from the help file, all the ASSOCLIST keywords produce a LIST of in this case Witnesses. Am I correct in assuming that there is no way to output them to show Witness 1 followed later by Witness 2?

I can handle this manually without any problem, so I'm just checking just in case one of the experts knows of an automated solution.

Could you make use of this feature:
ASSOCLIST can also include a parameter in square brackets to specify that a particular witness type should be displayed. For example: {ASSOCLIST[Witnesses].COMMA} would show just associated individuals where the title of the association type is 'Witnesses'.
Enter each witness with a different Title such as Witness1, Witness2, Witness3, etc, but where their Role Description is Witness for all of them. You will need to create some new Associated Individual Types for those definitions.
That should map them all onto the FH fact definition for Marriage Fact Witness Role of Witness but allow them to be listed individually via the {ASSOCLIST[Witness1]} and {ASSOCLIST[Witness2]} style of AS keywords.

I have not tried that but it ought to work.
