FH V7 Making a CD

Post by snook »

I wish to share a tree diagram with other members of the family. I have done a descendants CD but cannot find an option to include an "All relatives" diagram". So is there an option?
Also when clicking on an individual on the CD "Index of Names" it goes to the root person for the CD and not the individual.

It would be good if the CD version worked like clicking on the diagram in FH.

Any advice would be helpful.

I guess you have used the Publish > Websites & Family Tree CD/DVDs... command and used the Export... button to create the contents of the CD.

Do the "Index of Names" links work correctly in the version held on your PC disk before burning the CD?

Step 4: Add Items for Table of Contents offers Gedcom File or Other Download to add a Download link for a PDF file saved by a Diagram.

Unfortunately, the FH CD feature does not support clickable Diagrams as a standard option.

The FHUG Knowledge Base article Create Family Tree CD/DVD or Website Content gives some advice and refers to Family Tree Tips ~ Diagram Hyperlinks PDF which may offer a workaround.

Further to that my 'Improve Website or CD DVD HTML' plugin offers mini tree diagrams for each family/individual.

The Wish List has some Web Site Creation items requesting the addition of diagrams to the pages.

Consider creating a PDF of your diagram (Diagram menu > Save Diagram As) and emailing that PDF to family. The Ancestors and Descendants diagram is easiest to follow.
