Force Given Name in Fact Sentence

Post by APerson »

I can't locate any information on how to force a given name to appear in a fact sentence. I want to prevent the pronouns - he/her or him/her from being automatically selected. Specifically, I want to force the {individual} code display only the given name. Thanks for the help.

You need to replace {individual} with an appropriate Data Ref such as {%CUR_PRIN.NAME:GIVEN%} where CUR_PRIN refers to the Current Principal person associated with the Fact and the NAME tag can have any of the Name Qualifiers as described in the Help for General Topics > Name Formats.

If applied to the Tools > Fact Types... definition of the Sentence Template then it affects all such Facts.
Alternatively, if only required on specific Facts then edit the Sentence box of that particular Fact, but then you don't need the Data Ref as you can enter the given name in plain text.

See FHUG Knowledge Base Narrative Report Fact Sentence Templates that has relevant advice and examples.
