Media linked to Indiviudal Facts missing from Reports
I have just noticed that some Media appear to be missing from all types of Report.
Any Media image linked directly to any Individual Fact is never displayed in any Report.
I've checked that the images do not have Exclude From Reports ticked.
I've checked the Report > Options > Pictures tab, Other: Max Pics is 5 and 'Other' Picture Types below are both ticked.
i.e. Default settings.
Media linked directly to a Family Fact is displayed correctly but not those linked to Individual Facts.
Can others confirm this problem?

No, not if I understand your description correctly. I have .JPGs linked to my GF's Military Service Fact (a Custom attribute) - they do appear in his Individual Narrative Report and his Individual Summary Report.
His headstone photo (linked to the normal burial fact) also appears.
I'm on v7.0.9

Adrian, are they linked directly to the Fact, or to the Source/Citation linked to the Fact?
i.e.
Select the Fact, and use the Show Media button in the toolbar below.
In the Media For Fact dialogue, untick both Include Source Record Media and Include Citation Media lower right.
Is the Media image is still shown?
If YES then that is my problem scenario. They should appear in the body of the Report, but are missing.
If NO then you have Source/Citation media that appear in the Sources section of Reports.
Are they by any chance linked to the person in some other way?
To check, in the Report > Options > Pictures tab, set all Max Pics to 0 except for Other.

Yes, they still appear in the Media For Fact dialogue after unticking those 2 boxes, so they are linked to the Facts.tatewise wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022 13:00Adrian, are they linked directly to the Fact, or to the Source/Citation linked to the Fact?

They are still there - they vanish only when I untick "Facts" under "Other Picture Types". They are also shown as just one link in the Media List window - so I interpret that as saying that they are linked to the Facts and only to the Facts.

I can't reproduce this.
I have set up a new project added a person and added birth fact and added a picture to the fact and it appears correctly on the individual summary report, no sources or other information entered.

OK, thanks, I will have to review my symptoms and perhaps re-install FH or Restart PC.

Re: Media linked to Indiviudal Facts missing from Reports
I have discovered the other condition that inhibits the Fact Media.
If the Principal person is also their own Fact Witness then the Fact Media are excluded.
That is because the Fact Witness variant of the Fact replaces the Principal Fact, and Fact Witness facts do not include Media or Sources from the Principal Fact.

I am tempted to delete this thread as it is something of a red herring

Should the contents of this thread be incorporated into the knowledge base as a "quirk" of the witnessing functionality?

I don't think so David, as it only applies when the Principal is Witnessing themself, which has deficiencies.
The main one is that the Principal Fact does not appear in Reports anywhere, and that is why I saw no Media.
Unless you are talking about the general scenario where all Fact Witness facts do not include Media or Sources from the Principal Fact.
