Is there a way to have the Family Group Sheet report use full sentences? I suspect the answer is no, or perhaps use LUA. But I thought I would ask.

No, I don't think there is an easy way to do that.
However, a Narrative Report > Descendants by Generation starting with the Husband and set for 1 Generation (or perhaps 2 Generations) will produce something similar to a Family Group Sheet using narrative sentences.
