FH7 using Crossover Spouses not showing in Records window + other queries

Post by plantheaven »

Hi,
Did search for these but could not find a previous query for any of these, apologies if there are. Several queries:

I am running FH7 update on a Mac using Crossover (version 20.04).

I added 'Spouse' column using configure records column under Lists but the spouse name does not appear. The data ref. shows as INDI._ATTR-SPOUSE

Secondly I do not have a table icon in notes which was one of the items I really hoped for. I note that others have attempted to use the table so assume it should be there.

Thirdly the Records Window is soooo long - is there a way to resize so I can view Ind., spouse and children without scrolling down?

Hi Jacqui,

1. The data ref for spouse is %INDI.~SPOU[1]>NAME% This will give the first spouse's name. If you want further columns for 2nd or more spouses substitute [2], [3] etc. in later columns.

2. How many icons are you seeing in the note window toolbar? Have you checked that the window is wide enough to display them all?

3. I’m not sure what you are referring to here. The Records window displays a list of all the records of a single type. So on the Individuals tab it lists all individual records, the Sources tab lists all source records, Media tab lists all media records, etc. Are you referring to either the Property Box or the Focus window?

Hi Lorna,

Thank you, I have edited the spouse box and it works. You are quite right, I should have widened the note box for the icons to appear.
I meant the property box, sorry. I have had to reduce the text size to Tachoma 8pt to get everything in and think that was the problem even though I had it on 10pt in FH6.

Thanks so much for such a quick reply and putting me straight, very much appreciated.

Jacqui, a heads up: FH v7 and windows emulators WARNING (18285) -- tables don't work well in Crossover.

Thanks for the heads up and discovered that the tables don't work period! Damn.

Another problem I have found is that if I want to start a new line or paragraph in the notes box it doesn't work either so I have a continuous set of text!
