Icons on/off
I use a lot of small icons under a persons box in diagrams (to show which source types i have found et cet). But sometimes when i print diagrams i dont want them to show. Is there an easy way to hide them when necessary? And then unhide them?
See example attached.

Re: Icons on/off
I don't think there is an easy way to hide all those Icons.
Presumably, you have those customised Diagrams saved as a Custom Diagram Type.
So customise them to remove the Box Icons and save them as another Custom Diagram Type.
e.g. Use the same Custom Diagram Type name but add sans Icons
See Wish List item Ref 538 Temporarily hide Diagram Box Icons you can Vote for.
If they are governed only by Record Flags then Toggling icons (12828) has a Toggle Individual Flags Plugin.

Thanks. I will try the plugin. Else they are easily removed with a graphic program as it is only when making trees that i sometime would prefer the tree without the icons.
Re: Icons on/off
I have just downloaded the plug-in. But would read how to use it in the Plug-in Store before using it. But cant find it here?

Re: Icons on/off
That plugin is not published in the Plugin Store.
It was just a quick fix plugin I attached to that posting 5 years ago.
But nobody showed any interest so I did not think it worth publishing.
The instructions are given in that posting here where you downloaded the plugin.
Run the plugin to toggle Record Flags off, then run again to toggle them back on.
However, that will only affect your Diagram Icons if they are governed by Boxes tab Record Flag Conditions.
If they are governed by Expression Conditions then the Record Flags have no effect on Icons.

Re: Icons on/off
I have just tested the plugin on a laptop PC where i have a copy installation. It didn't work i am sorry to say. See attached file.
I use FH7 vith the latest update.
I have tried to rollback by answering Yes, but it didn't help.
Has the plugin been tested with the new version of FH?
Kind regards Klaus Yde

Re: Icons on/off
Yes, it has been tested with FH v7.
Did you read the instructions?
"If both Individual Flags and Automated Record Id are found in a Project, then the Plugin aborts with an error message."
So your Project must already have Automated Record Id (RIN) fields that have been imported from some other product as they cannot be added in FH.
Do you need to keep those RIN values?
If not, then you need to list them in a Query and delete them all.

Re: Icons on/off
OK - I am not aware that i should have imported any RIN values as my tree is build from the ground. But it seems i have few, if it those here: See picture.
I dont use them.
Is there an easy way to delete those? or do i have to do it individually?
Kind regards

Re: Icons on/off
They look like the RIN may have been imported from MyHeritage.
Select all those Query cells from MH:I50001 onwards and hit the Delete key or use Edit > X Delete command.
You may need to close and re-open FH after that deletion, to remove the empty RIN fields.

Hi Mike
Thanks a lot - it worked and the plug-in also.
One last (i hope) question. Where to delete those automated RINs individually?
I tried here: see picture. But that wasn't possible? And i wasn't able to see them elsewhere.
Kind regards
Klaus

Re: Icons on/off
I thought you had successfully deleted all those Automated Record Id via the Query Results?
So why are some still listed?
You can delete any one individually by various methods:
Select one cell in the Query Results exactly the same as the bulk delete that I described earlier.
In the All tab select the Automated Record Id label on the left and hit the Delete key or use Edit > X Delete command.
You also seem to have a lot of _UID and _UDP Uncategorised Data Fields (UDF) that must have been imported from another product (although you say you have done no imports). They all need to be deleted to clean up your FH Project database.
See FHUG KB Handling Uncategorised Data Fields that you should have used when that data was imported.
Run the UDF List plugin and in its Result Set bulk delete the unwanted _UID & _UDP just as you as bulk deleted the RIN.

Re: Icons on/off
Thanks
I had for a couple of years ago tried to merge some data via small gedcom files with new data, but found it to troublesome and time consuming comparing to just adding the data manually. I would guess it is from those experiments. I have checked other records - it is very few that has those fields - but they will be deleted.
