* Delete Custom Source Template

I cloned the "Oral Testimony" Source Template and called it Personal Memory. Saved it in "Custom".

Tried it as a source & it produced as the Title of the Source Record 'Personal Memory ***ERROR ... Individual .. etc ***'.

I went to edit & changed where I had put "Individual" as new field to "Name". I saved that & was given no warning messages from FH. I believed when I saved my edit it would update that cloned source template I'd created. No. When I tried using the saved version it still had 'Personal Memory *** ERROR ... etc etc***' as the Title of the Source Record.

I was able to delete "Personal Memory" from the Source Template Definitions window. (no more Custom field in the drop down of "Collection").

I was able to delete "Personal Memory" from the Source list.

I am not able to delete "Personal Memory" from the "Select template for new Source Record" window.

I've tried going to Preferences & then Sources & Records but couldn't see where it might be possible (with confidence).

I tried the delete button - no luck. I tried all combinations of 'button (eg: ctrl/alt/fn) + X' and no luck.

I tried Compare/Sync with Oral Testimony & Personal Memory. I was able to "Sync" via "Perform Task" most of problems that caused the error within Personal Memory Source Record.

I was able to 'sync' the Personal Memory "Collection" field to "Essentials" however it still doesn't show up in the "Essentials" list of the Source Template Definitions.

Now stuck at Source Template Record bottom line. see attached image.

I have tried a few other things (before posting) and "Personal Memory" doesn't error any more it now has the title "Oral Testimony" (I understand why) and even though I changed it back to "custom" there is still no "custom" drop down from "Collection" bar.

I'd really like to remove Personal Memory from the Select template for new Source Record window. And start again I know where I went wrong. Is it possible to delete "Personal Memory" from the "Select template for new Source Record"

View > Other Record Lists > Source Templates and delete it there.

Kylie, to reveal all the types of record in Records Window tabs use the following setting.
Tools > Preferences > Records Window in Record Type Display Options set them all to Always Show.
Then all the various record types including Source Templates have their own tab, Property Box, and delete options.
I don't know why CP have chosen to Hide some of the record types.

I spent hours yesterday trying and failing to do this very thing. I wanted to delete some (apparently inaccessible) Source Template Records after changing the corresponding Source Tempate Definitions, and to re-add the amended templates to the project. Then today I found this thread which tells me how to unhide them.

FH has a pretty steep learning curve for its advanced features, and the wonderful people on this forum make all the difference. Thank you!

Yes, I have never understood why CP have chosen to hide some record types in the Records Window.
IMO The Tools > Preferences > Records Window options should be set to show them all.
