Displaying complex relationships with close relatives

Post by Caoimhin »

Good morning. In running the "how related" function, I have the following relationships with my 3rd great grandmother:

Marie Anne XXX is great (x3) grandmother of Kevin
Marie Anne XXX is 2nd cousin 5 times removed of Kevin
Marie Anne XXX is 3rd cousin 6 times removed of Kevin
Marie Anne XXX is 4th cousin 4 times removed of Kevin
Marie Anne XXX is 4th cousin 4 times removed of Kevin
Marie Anne XXX is half 3rd cousin 6 times removed of Kevin
Marie Anne XXX is 4th cousin 5 times removed of Kevin
Marie Anne XXX is 4th cousin 5 times removed of Kevin
Marie Anne XXX is 4th cousin 5 times removed of Kevin
Marie Anne XXX is half 4th cousin 5 times removed of Kevin
Marie Anne XXX is 5th cousin 4 times removed of Kevin
Marie Anne XXX is 5th cousin 5 times removed of Kevin
Marie Anne XXX is 5th cousin 5 times removed of Kevin
Marie Anne XXX is 5th cousin 5 times removed of Kevin
Marie Anne XXX is 5th cousin 6 times removed of Kevin
Marie Anne XXX is 5th cousin 6 times removed of Kevin

However, her daughter, my 2nd great grandmother, only results in "Great (x2) grandmother." Running a custom query that (successfully) shows up to 30 relationships with other, more distant relatives still results in the same limited relationship for ancestors closer than 2nd great grandparent.

Does anyone know of a specific query or other work-around to determine the full set of relationships between relatively close relatives? It's as if FH gives up on these sorts of complex, usual cousin relationships once the individuals get within three or four generations of each other.

Thanks,
Kevin
