* Order of 'Fast Add Menu' items for Facts
Order of 'Fast Add Menu' items for Facts
Having recntly added some fact types to the Add fact, Fast Add Menu, for ease of access, there seems no logic to the order in which they are presented! They aren't in the order they were added nor are they alphabetical.
They seem to mainly be in the order one would use them in life (i.e. Birth, Christening, Census, Marriage, Death etc), but randomly interspersed with non-life events such as DNA and Gedmatch!
I would like to re-arrange them so that the most frequently used ones are at the top, or at least make the list alphabetical. Is it possible?

I suspect they are in Time Frame order. I can't see a way to reorder them.

I initially thought that, but I wonder who decided where to put DNA, DNA Marker & Gedmatch? Doesn't make sense

Those aren't standard facts. Did you define them? What do you have their normal time set to?

Re: Order of 'Fast Add Menu' items for Facts
I have the normal timeframe for my DNA facts set to After death, so they show up at the end of the list.

Who'd have thought you could set it to pre-birth
Excellent, DNA etc now show at top of list, just as I want.
Thanks for tips

Those facts will also be listed at the top of the Facts tab and cannot be moved unless you enter a Date.

Even better! Where they were, they broke’ the timeline of the facts. Now, they will at the top, out of the way of the chronological facts

Well, biologically speaking the DNA is fixed pre-birth, of course!

Out of curiosity, where does one find this option?
Thanks

Use Tools > Fact Types... which is where the definition of the characteristics of each type of Fact is defined.
Select a Fact name and click Edit... to open the Fact Definition dialogue.
Click Help for an explanation of everything in that dialogue.
