I needed to delete a few Media today and spotted a strange behaviour.
When I click on the red X, the pop-up dialog box appears, and the focus is on the top box "Unlink only". Since I wanted to delete, I pressed the down arrow on the keyboard, but the result was that the focus skipped the middle box and went instead to "Cancel".
Even stranger, if you revert to the default opening position ("Unlink only" selected), and press the UP arrow, the focus moves down!
Is this a bug, or "by design"?

Re: Deleting Media
Yes the behaviour is odd. I had never noticed because I use the mouse to select the option I want. However, among other oddities it seems that if you use the left arrow on the keyboard it goes to the middle option. (But only if you don't use the right arrow first!).

Re: Deleting Media
Yes, I see what you mean, and that is a little eccentric.
The most common method of changing focus is by the tab key, and that cycles round Delete, Unlink, Cancel.
It looks like the focus precedence is 1. Delete, 2. Unlink, 3. Cancel but Unlink gets the initial focus.
With that in mind, the other keys do follow some logic.
Down & Right ascend from Delete through Unlink to Cancel and stop.
Up and Left descend from Cancel through Unlink to Delete and stop.
I suspect it is some accidental legacy rather than a specific design.
The danger in changing is it may upset users who have learnt by rote key sequences that work.
You could report it to Calico Pie if you like.
I believe that to get that dialogue you must use the mouse cursor on the X so I just click the button I need, and have never noticed the eccentric keys.
CAUTION:
After deleting the Media records don't forget to delete the Media files that get left behind.
The Check for Unlinked Media Plugin may be helpful.

Re: Deleting Media
The only way to cycle through the thee buttons seems to be to use the Tab key, or Shift+Tab to go the other way (not necessarily the way you expect, though!).

Thanks for confirming my thoughts. Reported it to Calico Pie.
