When I enter something in the Location field on the right side of the map window and then click on the search button (green button with white arrow), I get strange lists of locations to choose from.
If I enter New York and click on the button, my list has 12 entries. All of them say "New York, Array".
If I enter London and click on the button, my list is again 12 entries. All of them say "England, Array".
If I enter Los Angeles and click on the button, my list is again 12 entries. 7 show "California, Array" and there are one each of "Azuay, Array", "Querataro, Array", "VIII Region del Biobio, Array", "Caraga, Array", "Puebla, Array".
No matter which entry I pick out of each list, it seems to take me to the right place.
Is this what others are getting? What are these? What does the "Array" mean?
Thanks

Yes, I get the same thing Bill. I was also puzzled as to what is going on with that when we were trading replies on the other map thread. I was about to submit a new post as well, but you beat me to it. I don't have an answer.

Bob,
Good to know I'm not alone. Maybe someone else will be able to explain the lists.
Thanks,

Me too!
But it doesn’t happen every time, it comes and goes. I think it might be something to do with how busy the Openstreet server is.(my guess)

BillH,
Just spotted your question about meaning of Array.
Put simply, an Array is a computer term to describe a list of items.
A single dimension Array could hold a simple list, like days of the week
A 2 dimension Array could hold a Spreadsheet, where data is reference by Row and Column
A 3 dimension Array could hold multiple Spreadsheets, reference by Sheet, Row and Column.
etc. etc.
Without realising it, you already use Array terminology when you use terms like Note[2], where the [2] indicates you want the 2nd item from the list (Array) named Note

Re: Map Window Location search field question
I don't get any mention of the word Array.
For the places Bill mentions, FH list 12 locations with the first being the obvious New York, United States of America, or similarly for London and Los Angeles followed by sub-districts within each city.
I have tried other cities and the lists always include that place name but not necessarily the city itself.
It may be an identical name in various countries and may even be just a street with that name.

Re: Map Window Location search field question
Thanks everyone for the replies. Very strange. I tried it at least 10 times yesterday over the course of an hour and kept getting the weird lists. Today, everything is fine. I get results as Mike describes. Not sure what the problem was yesterday.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Bill,
This isn’t a new problem, I’ve experienced it many times over the past few months. For example I got it yesterday, but it’s back to normal today. I’m sure it is to do with congestion on their server
