One natural parent, one step parent

Hi,
I have found I can flag a set of parents as step, foster, adopted, birth asf by right-clicking the child in the Focus window and choosing in "Relationship to parents"
I have a situation where I want to register only one of the parents in a couple as a step-parent, the other as parent by birth. Is this possible?

Yes, when you obtain that drop-list of options choose More Options at the bottom and you can Specify relationship to each parent separately.

*Blush* should have seen that, thanks!
This seems to trigger a strange phenomena. The child now has two sets of parents. The mother is the same in the two sets, while one set has the birth father and the other set the step-father. The child has two brothers and one sister with the same birth parents (but the step-father is only connected to this one child).
In Facts in the Properties window (with
Show Timeline Facts) for this child I get:
- Death of sister 1
- Burial of half-sister 1
- Death of brother 1
- Burial of half-brother 1
- Death of brother 2
- Burial of half-brother 2
Why is each sibling seen as full at death (correct), but as half at burial (incorrect)?

I don't think you are saying the two sets of parents are a strange phenomena, because they are quite independent of setting the Parent Relationship to Child.
Also the strange phenomena in the Timeline Facts are nothing to do with setting the Parent Relationship to Child.
They are purely a side-effect of having multiple parents.
The Birth, Christening, Marriage, Death & Cremation events say sister/brother.
Whereas Baptism & Burial events say half-sister/brother and that is a strange phenomena of simply having multiple parents.
I suggest you report it to Calico Pie.

Calico Pie requested a small GEDCOM sample demonstrating this phenomena, which I supplied, and they respond:
Thank for reporting this. I can confirm that this is a bug. It will be fixed in a future release. For interest, a line such as "Burial of half-brother ...." is wrong for 2 reasons: first, it should be 'brother' and not 'half-brother'. Second, the line should not be there at all. With timeline facts, the option ("Death+") is described as follows in the Help: "For each relative of the chosen type, a recorded death, burial or cremation event will be displayed. If a person has more than one of these recorded, only the first will be displayed". So only the death fact should be included for ... in this context, and not also the Burial fact.

That is a more positive response than I expected, especially as they spotted that only the first one of Death, Burial, or Cremation should appear. Hopefully they will fix Birth, Baptism & Christening in the same way.
