Using Family Historian on more than one device

Apologies if there's an answer to this somewhere which I haven't been able to find... I have looked!

I use FH v6 on my PC, but would like to use it on at least one other device - an iPad and / or a Windows notebook.

Even more ideally, I'd like to be able to access it via the web, so I can use it on 3rd party PCs.

Is any of this possible?

Ruth

Hi Ruth, I've moved this to the FH General Usage Forum becasue it is not to do with importing from or exporting to another genealogy program.

You have visited similar topics before: Windows 8 (10986) and gedcom files and ipad (5571)

The general advice on such topics is in how_to:index#installation_guide|> Installation Guide but to answer your specific questions...

FH won't run on an iPad but you can copy your Project as advised before in gedcom files and ipad (5571).
Then you put it into an Ancestry Family Tree and so can view it in any web browser on any device anywhere in the world.
Use the plugins:help:export_gedcom_file:export_gedcom_file|> Export Gedcom File Plugin and follow the plugins:help:export_gedcom_file:anc_ancestry_family_tree|> Export Gedcom File ~ (ANC) Ancestry Family Tree advice.

You can migrate to a Windows Notebook as explained in how_to:family_historian_migration_guide|> Family Historian V5 & V6 Migration Guide and then synchronise your PC with your Notebook so both remain up-to-date.

Your licence from Calico Pie does not allow your copy of FH to be installed on 3rd party PC.
See how_to:about#licence_agreement|> Licence Agreement.

thanks so much Mike... I will check out those links... I'm afraid I forget from one year to the next the advice I've had before...

Ruth, do you see on the right where it says Posts: 19 ?
Click on the 19 and all your earlier postings will be listed and you can review them.
Thus you don't have to remember past advice, as the FHUG Forum does that for you.
