Font change Ancestor Diagram

Post by Taterbug »

Cannot find the font setting for Ancestor diagram, to make it larger, as marked by arrow.
Refer to the following examples, and please tell me where to adjust this.
Did not find anything in Tools- Preferences and it is not obvious in the Edit Text Scheme window.
Please refer to attached pictures:
Thank you

If you search the Help files for "Edit Text Scheme Dialog" you will find some guidance. In particular:
As well as an 'initial font', you will also be able to change all font information (including text colour, style, colour override state, etc) as often as you like, within the body of the text scheme. You do this by inserting a <Font change> Item at the required place.
From the list of Available Items in the left hand panel select <Font change (style, text colour etc)> and click > in the centre. Then select your desired font and click OK. The item will be at the bottom of the list on the right hand side. Use the up/down arrows to move it to the required position in the list. The new font will apply to everything after it, until the next font change (if any) is reached in the list.

Use the font change option in the available items in the left hand column of the edit text scheme pane (you can see it in your attachment - 4th line down).
Then you are presented with a panel "edit text scheme item - font". There you can change the font style and size etc.

The text indicated by "Cannot find this Text setting" arrow in original screen-shot is governed by the existing Used Items entry on right-hand 4th line <font = Arial, ...
i.e.
The Initial Font: governs the Used Items 1st line Name item.
The <font = Arial, ... governs Used Items 5th line Name (a.k.a.), 6th line Birth, etc, items onwards.

As others have explained, those <Font change... items can be inserted anywhere.

Ahh, that did it, the 1st instructions did not change anything, as it defaulted back to 8 pt, after you made the change.
This last change also changes the aspect ratio of the entire Output, making the tree larger, hence, one must re-scale the final output smaller, to fit the larger font used for entire page.
Thank you
