Viewing and Printing Whole Tree

Post by Icecreampolice » 21 Feb 2017 15:45

Hello, newbie here. I'm trying to view a whole tree, but not everybody is showing up. There are 28 people in all, but only 25 are showing up. I'm clicking all variations in "view" but still cannot see the last 3 people missing. Could anybody advise me please?

Also, I'm looking for a company who could print this tree onto one piece of paper? Somewhere I could send my zip file to maybe? Is there anywhere that Family Historian recommends for this?

Thank you

Welcome to the FHUG.
As a newcomer I strongly advise you work through Knowledge Base > Key Features for Newcomers to get a better understanding of the FH features.

If you are using the All Relatives Diagram then check the Diagram Root Couples in the above.
However, if you have multiple spouses for some ancestors then often not all their relatives are included, because it would make the tree to complex in many cases. But you can use Diagram > Insert into Diagram to add a subtree.

Try using Diagram > Save Diagram As > PDF File and it will probably fit on one page that can be printed at any local printers. See Knowledge Base > Single Page PDF of a Diagram for details of creating and printing a single large PDF page.

If any of the above is unclear or unsatisfactory just ask again.

Just to add to Mike's reply, there is one other approach you could use.

I know you said you have tried all the variations under View, but try again with View > Standard Diagram Types > Everyone. This will produce a diagram containing everyone in your file, but the layout may not be ideal and you may need to move things around a bit to achieve a satisfactory layout. With a small file of only 28 people this shouldn't be too difficult. If this is necessary, click the icon second from the right in the diagram toolbar to open the Movement Control Box, then click the Help button in that box for further guidance.

Regarding specialist printers, see this section: Knowledge Base > Downloads and Links ~ Publishers
