Default folder and settings for "Save as pdf"

Post by Forpm » 31 Aug 2014 18:08

When I go to Diagram>Save Diagram As PDF and use the Family Historian PDF printer option, it tries to save the pdf in the Public folder of my Projects\Family Tree folder. The profile says "Family Historian Profile (Private profile)" in pink and then "Use folder from LOCAL computer" in yellow.

I would like to save these diagrams elsewhere, such as on the desktop, before emailing them to people. I can change this using Browse, and it will then remember this setting for subsequent diagrams that I save. However, when I close the program and re-open, it forgets these settings. I would also like to be able to uncheck the "Open PDF with default viewer" box, but again this is also forgotten when I close down.

I have played around with the Nova driver settings but cannot get it to save any new defaults. Any help appreciated.

Unfortunately, there are many FH settings that only last for the FH program session.
It has been commented on before, but I am not aware of a solution.

best I can suggest is what I do with similar program defaults. I use a clipboard manager (I use ARSCLIP which is portable http://www.joejoesoft.com/vcms/97/, but there are many more see http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-fr ... tility.htm, with this you can keep your regular save directory and just paste it when needed. Edit, Ditto seems to be a favourite and is also available as a portable app via http://www.liberkey.com/en/catalog-flat-list-view.html
