Please forgive me if this topic has already been covered, but I have searched the forums without success and have therefore signed up to the user group specifically to seek a solution to my problem.
I am developing a new web site using the web creation facility in V5 as my starting point, but I am heavily adapting the site that has been created by FH. Among other things, I am adding several new pages which has meant re-coding the Home and Index pages created by FH to add more page links in the menu bar. This is ok as it just means copying and pasting some lines of code onto 2 pages.
My problem is that I have some 1100 Individual's in my tree and each has his own page/summary record sheet which at the moment are only showing "Home" and "Index" in the menu bar. The prospect of having to open /paste/close 1100 pages doesn't bear thinking about!!!
Ideally I would like to get access to source code which creates the summary record sheets so I can amend the code once and then let FH copy the new code through all 1100 sheets. Is that possible or is there a plug-in that exists which could do the job? My coding skills are probably not up to creating a plug-in myself and in any event, it would probably be quicker for me to recode the 1100 pages !!
I am sure others must have had this issue before so any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

Re: How do I add links to the menu bar when I create web pag
In FH you can add extra code to the header and footer in the Advanced button on Step 7 of the Wizard, but not with in the menu list.
Alternately there are a couple of ways to do this, either use a search and replace capable of handing multiple files such as fhugdownloads:contents:nodesoft_search_and_replace|Nodesoft Search and Replace or you can write a plugin Mikes "Improve Website or CD DVD HTML" already works through all the files so it might be possible to add your changes to that one.

Thanks for the prompt reply Jane.
I have just used the "Search and Replace" program and it works a treat! In fact so good that I might now make some other tweaks to the summary sheet pages.
Something like this might make a useful addition to Mikes plug-in, but having taken a quick look at the help files for writing plug-ins, this is well above my levels at the moment. Perhaps later ....
I had previously downloaded and used Mikes plug-in to add record ID's to the name index page - again it was simple to use and worked well, so 10 out of 10 to you, Mike and FHUG.
Thanks again
PS When I am finally happy with the web site and have uploaded it I will add a link on FHUG
