Mike,
Where is the latest version of your script?
The version in Knowledgebase is the old one, which you wrote in 2016
NB I am assuming you've updated already, judging by Colin's comment thanking you.
No worries if it is still inhand

Its supposed to say that, but what is says is it won’t work with v&ColeValleyGirl wrote: ↑08 Mar 2021 11:36 If sombody who knows what they're doing submits a script that works with V7, that would be great -- the current content does say it works with v6; I've added a note that it doesn't work with V7.

Re: AutoHotKey Script
I do run autohotkey happily in V7, but simply as a way of entering text via a shortcut. For example Ctl-1 enters date of 1911 census when adding a fact, likewise withCtl-3 (1939), Ctl-4 (1841) etc Where is the script file you are referring to, and what is it meant to do? I’m happy to have a look, it...

Re: Change a Fact's Fact Set
On a slightly different topic, if you edit a fact type, a lot of fields are greyed out, yet can still be edited. In my topic on ordering of the Facts in the Quick List, I changed Normal Time of the DNA fact to Before Birth , despite this field being greyed out. CP seems to inconsistent in its use of...

Re: Ancestry Family Tree Search Results
Mark, That is not my experience, and not what I was referring to. I’ve seen instances where place has been fully described (town, county, country) yet they still changed it. Personally, I don’t see why they have to change it anyway, even if it is wrong. Ancestry should be showing what is in the tree...

Re: Ancestry Family Tree Search Results
Nick, I agree. Especially as Ancestry’s results page often bears no relation to reality, especially when it comes to place names in Family Trees. Places in family trees are often Americanised by them before being displayed in the search results page. Why they feel the need to change places in this w...

Ancestry Family Tree Search Results
I am getting more and more frustrated by the results from Ancestry's search engine I just searched for a John Weaver, born 1896 Tonbrige, Kent, and the 3rd entry on the list was for a Alice Sophia Avery, born 1895 Bidborough Kent! As far as I can make out, it matched Aver y with We aver ! How useful...

Who'd have thought you could set it to pre-birth
Excellent, DNA etc now show at top of list, just as I want.
Thanks for tips

I’ll check/correct them, Thanks

Order of 'Fast Add Menu' items for Facts
Having recntly added some fact types to the Add fact, Fast Add Menu , for ease of access, there seems no logic to the order in which they are presented! They aren't in the order they were added nor are they alphabetical. They seem to mainly be in the order one would use them in life (i.e. Birth, Chr...

Re: DNA Diagram titles
Yes that is a way round it, but why should we need to?
If CP had put more thought into choosing the names, it wouldn't be necessary?
I feel a complaint/suggestion to CP is in order, as I'm sure it is simple to correct!
Are these diagrams built in, because there are no such files on my PC?

DNA Diagram titles
Silly question, but where are the various new DNA Diagrams stored on my PC, and can their names be amended? Currently, if you have both the Shared X.. and Shared Y.. digrams open, both appear as simply Shared... in the list of windows. I would like to change their names, so they could appear as X.. ...

Re: unlinking a person
First thing I would do, would be to add Bertha as a child of Annie. If Annie was unmarried at the time, add an empty spouse to create a new family for Annie, then attach Bertha as a child via an Existing Individual , find Bertha in the list and select her. Then go to Annie Parents, where Bertha is a...

Re: FMP census and the 1939 register
David, I complained about the popup hints as one scroll across the page, which cause the irritating flicker. I got a reply saying you can’t turn off navigation i.e the film strip! I replied, pointing out that my complaint was about the flickering. They came back with much the same answer, i.e you ca...

Re: FMP census and the 1939 register
Victor, The problem isn't with the image, but the result screen! When Ancestry shows a list of possible matches for a search, it also display on the left hand side, a set of sliders to modify the search filters. As one moves the cursor to alter one of these sliders e.g. Birth slider, it triggers oth...

Re: FMP census and the 1939 register
It appears that they've moved it to the bottom right. Very odd. Overall, I don't mind the new viewer - once they allow us to minimize the film strip (which is handy for navigation), it will be just fine for me. Not quite, that method only applies to some sets of images, others still show the licqor...

Re: FMP census and the 1939 register
David, Other sites manage to allow one to jump around the images using a 'Jump' to page feature, without the need to show a filmstrip of the images. To be honest, unless one can actually see these small images, or there were more of them like familysearch, they serve no useful purpose at all. Furthe...

Re: Invitation to a census
I think we've all become so paranoid about keeping our data protected, not trusting our government, etc. that there will be a lot of people who don't fill this in or put in false information. I'd guess a much higher number than in the past. I helped out during the 2011 census, and to be honest I fo...

Re: missing sex
I thought it appropriate to mention here, that if you inadvertantly assign the wrong sex to someone, when you try to add a marriage to an ‘existing’ individual rather than a new one, FH will list only display those of the opposite sex! Which makes it awkward to have a same sex marriage between two p...
