PeterR said: Bill, Another possibility, which would avoid the (slight) hassle of customizing the Property Box, is to amend the Caption for the Individual Property Box. Have a look at the Help for Property Box Captions. As it says, the default caption is:Individual: %INDI% You could enter instead ...

Hi Chris, Thanks for the reply. I had added the prefix the way you had and then I came across the field called INDI.NAME[1]:ADORNED. According to the help, this field is 'Given name and surname, preceded by name prefix, if any, and followed by name suffix, if any.'. I thought this would be perfect b...

Jane, Just to see what it would look like, I tried customizing the property box by adding a new custom field. Here is how I defined the new field: http://www.fhug.rjt.org.uk/images/uploads/Screen1.JPG http://www.fhug.rjt.org.uk/images/uploads/Screen2.JPG This is what is defined in the 'more' portion...

Jane, That is too bad. I've used 3 other programs before coming to FH and they all supported this. I've added comments to wish list item 429 about having an option to include these on the focus window tabs, but maybe it should be a separate item or maybe the name of 429 should be changed. In any cas...

I'm new to Family Historian and for the life of me I can't figure out how to show the name prefix, name suffix, and nickname in the focus window. How do I do that?
Thanks!

Seems easy enough.
I cut out part of the screen and saved it as a jpg file.
I did the upload and clicked on the link to insert code which inserted the code into the reply.
Here is the inserted code.
This is just a test.
Thanks!

Gerry,
OK... I tried the upload image file link and followed the directions and it says the file was uploaded successfully, but I don't see it in the reply anywhere. Any ideas as to where the file was actually uploaded?
Thanks!

Jane, I have another question. How are you getting the screen print into the message reply? I see that there is a UBBC tag for 'insert image' which puts some special tags into the reply. What I can't figure out is how to get the image inserted. I tried positioning between the tags and doing a paste,...

Hi Jane,
I had hit run before saving the standard query as a custom query, but had not realized I needed to hit run again after selecting the custom query. Now I see how it works.
Thanks for your help (and your patience).

question on adding citations
Hi, I'm new to FH and have a question about adding citations. If I am adding information to existing facts about people from a new source that I've been working with, it would be really nice if there was a way to tell FH to add the same citation that I just added to the last fact I updated. If I und...

Jane,
Thanks... it was the second and third one that I really couldn't figure out. There is one more that appears sometimes, looks like a chain link or something. What is that one for?
Thanks!

When reading and replying to messages here on the forums, there are a lot of little icons displayed. Are these documented anywhere?
Thanks!

Jane, OK... I watched the video, but I'm still confused. Here is what I did. I ran 'find uncategorised data'. I ran the 'named list members query'. I see the individuals on the 'result set' tab. On the query menu I select 'save as custom query' and give it a name. I can then add the column to the re...

Hi Jane, When I run the 'find uncategorized data' it says there are two records. When I run the query it shows two Individuals on the 'result set' tab. However, there is only one column on this report called 'Individual'. There is no column called 'UDF'. If I click on the 1st and then go to the last...
