This is just normal editing in MS Word. You can always edit the table by adding additional columns and then moving the photos into the different table elements. Alternatively you can use the usual copy and paste commands.

A challenge
The following was sent to me as a joke but it would be interesting putting this into Family Historian and looking at the diagram: Dear Sir, Can you answer this benefits question please? Many years ago, I married a widow out of love who had an 18-year-old daughter. After the wedding, my father, a wid...

You can always use Notepad++ or other Plain Text editor to strip all those characters for you from your gedcom file.

Re: Where to host tree for posterity
Hmmmm! But I don't have a website of my own to archive and no time or inclination to make one. Too busy doing research! I have chosen a couple of solutions which will, I hope, keep my tree available after my demise. Still interested in what others have done about it. Or are you all immortal? LOL An...

Re: Where to host tree for posterity
Adrian, No a search is dynamic and so could not be indexed. However, sites that use applications like TNG , Genealone , WebTrees all use databases and all have pages that are 'static' and pull data from the database and so they will be indexed. So, if for instance, you look at http://spencer-genealo...

Re: Where to host tree for posterity
Adrian,
Both of these services are like the search engines they use crawlers to render the pages and then save them, so a dynamic website is no problem. There is an interesting new plugin for Wordpress sites that will push changes to WayBackMachine rather than waiting for it to crawl your site.

Nick,
Just something to throw in to the mix. Are the hints regarded as changes by the FH snapshot? I wonder if FH is checking in the background and changes a ? to a green number if that triggers this anomaly?

Re: Where to host tree for posterity
About making your tree available for ever. There are a couple of options to consider. The Internet Archive at https://archive.org/web/ is one. The other is if your research is UK based then the British Library Web Archive is available if you apply for your site to be archived. https://archive.org/we...

Re: Where to host tree online so I can share it
There are the usual places of Ancestry, FindMyPast, FamilySearch, MyHeritage etc as well as Tribal Pages which I personally do not like. You could consider WikiTree or Twile. Personally I prefer self hosted and there your choices are TNG, Genealone, WebTrees or even using the create website option w...

Re: Still births
The age at birth is 0 so I am sorry I don't understand your question. A birth cannot happen before you are born so the age will always be 0 the date, however, is a different matter. As it is a still birth I would record both the birth and the death with the same date and enter still birth in the not...

Re: Display problems in Windows 10
Mike (T), My Windows 7 laptop is now just over 5 years old. It's getting unreliable and in the past 12 months I've had to strip everything off it and reinstall from scratch following the dreaded blue screen nightmare - thank goodness for regular backups. In addition, during winter I don't need to h...

Re: Display problems in Windows 10
Eric I think you not have been the whole truth. Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom both work perfectly on my 5K screen. Something you may wish to consider trying if you have an old Windows 7 licence available is to run a Virtual Machine and Win 7 in a window on your Win 10 machine sized appropriately for...

Re: Webtrees
Roger I had a quick play with Webtrees today and it looks very interesting and may well suit me for my Surname Study as it allows multiple trees (a failing of Genealone) as I have a separate project for each of my study countries. I will do some more playing with it over the coming days and update t...

I looks similar to both TNG and Genealone. I must admit that I personally prefer Genealone but there again Webtrees is free and the others are both paid products. May be worth downloading it and trying it on your own PC using Wampserver or similar.

Re: Upgrading to version 6.2.1
No problems updating for me from within the application on a Win 7 Virtual Machine.
It certainly does seem to start up much quicker than before, i always thought that this was an issue with my VM but it appears not.
I have not yet noticed any difference in the address auto completion.

Re: Ability to print from Ancestors and Descendants tabs
One simple way is to use the windows snipping tool.
See fhugdownloads:contents:utility_windows_snipping_tool|> Utility ~ Windows Snipping Tool.
Alternatively you can configure a diagram to mimic the display.

Thanks Mike & Lorna
I had presumed title for Mr, Lord, Sir, etc. I had not considered using it for a suffix but it makes sense so will use it.

What fact for an award?
There doesn't seem to be a standard fact type for an award such as MBE.
What do you use?
Is this a case for a custom fact, I'm not worried about compatibility.

Re: Family Trees
Get one of the free unzip programmes if the ability to unzip them is not available in your computer operating system. One example is 7-zip. The file you are looking for will have a ged extension.
This presumes that you are not trying to open a Family Historian backup zip file.

Mike, Thanks I don't mind the 'corruption' of the occupation as I think it makes more sense, I just hadn't thought of doing it that way.

Thanks Mike that is exactly what I wanted (in your last post) (a bit of lateral thinking, easy when you know how).
