Entering Time of Birth and Witnesses
Morning all, I'm not sure if I asked this before but Is there a best way of showing the time of birth? I have started redoing my tree using templates and I realised that over the years the way the time of birth (Scottish certificates) has changed 10h 10m p.m.. , 10:10 pm and 22:10 and it got me wond...

Re: Map Language
My point exactly Sleepingwolf, if you have the point on FH maps, as you said 2 clicks to Bing maps and you have the English spelling you can then pick the exact spot you want, right click on it and get the coordinates (even a handy link to copy it, so that you can paste that exact spot back into FH).

Re: Map Language
This may be a silly question but what is the point of this question? Surely you can use the might of the Googly folks or the Softers to convert to English and pick up you Lat/Long there as well, kind of two clicks away.

Re: Hotkey to hide boxes in charts/diagrams
BTW: If needed, a 'hotkey' would need to be more than a single letter to avoid misinterpretation. It would need to involve another key such a Ctrl, Shft, Alt, or Windows key. That would detract from making it easier than right-click of the mouse. What like Ctrl c to copy. I would never right click ...

Re: Birth time
Or are Scottish certificates different from England and Wales? Scottish certificates are different, and include time of birth, I believe. Yes Scottish Birth Certificates do have the time of birth on them, I didn't know that wasn't the case in England as the only birth cert from England I had seen w...

Birth time
Hi All, Quick question, what is the best way to put the time of birth into FH. I know it is mainly preference but I was just wondering whether it is best to put it in as it is written on the certificate or put it in in a consistent manner? I ask because my Great Grandmother's birth cert says 12hr No...

Re: Ancestry data
Victor, you are misreading what I am doing. I haven't had Ancestry membership since I moved from FTM to FH back when Ancestry announced they were discontinuing support for FTM (early 2016). I have the first Mackiev version of FTM2014.1 but that is not compatible with Ancestry and I had actually move...

Re: Ancestry data
Sorry Helen, I never got to finish the post (dog walking duties) but thought I had put enough in to post it. I would normally do my own searches but hints come in handy some times on my tree. I once hit a wall with my wife's family and Ancestry came up with a suggestion that I would never have found...

Ancestry data
Hi All, I have just taken out a subscription to Ancestry for the first time since I moved over from FTM. My question is, what is the best information to add to ancestry to get best results. I was thinking a tree that included names and BMD dates would probably be all I would really need to have. Any...

Re: Marriage Date in Queries
Dave/Mike Wow, I didn't understand any of that until the last two lines of Mike's reply, which was what I was looking for. That is all I need for the moment, but I can see many uses now for them (especially 2nd/3rd marriages) and will start to have a deeper look into all those %[]>'s   :lo...

Marriage Date in Queries
Hi all, I have never had any need so far with queries that aren't already in the menu's so don't know much about them. A relative asked me to print off an updated list of family members with their BMD dates and spouse, like the one I did before in FTM2014. Now I have managed to get the name of the i...

Re: Step sister
Hi Mike, My father married my step mum, both had children from their first marriages but none together. In my tree I have my step sister with her mother and father and myself with my mother and father. I then have my father and step mother's marriage with my step sister as his stepdaughter. Hope tha...

Re: Step sister
Hi Guys Sorry to bring this up again, but I have just set up my father as my step sisters, step dad and when I now ask FH7 how we are related it says that she is my half sister but that my father is her step dad. How can this be? there is no biological link between us, it gets that my father is her ...

Two witnesses or which one
Here's my dilemma, the best man and bridesmaid at a wedding are both also the witnesses to the wedding. My question is how do you put them into the Witnesses? Do I put them in twice, once as Witness and once as best man/bridesmaid or just as one or the other and if so what one?

Re: Create Source From Template- Problem
Thanks for that Tiwa01 and Helen, I always used to put the time and birth weight if known in the Note for the Birth Fact and I was looking for it in a Note somewhere, that was why I couldn't find it. I hope you are right as I like the way the template adds the data in to the citation. It is s...

Re: Create Source From Template- Problem
Helen Yes line 756 is the same as the line you posted. Still can't find time of birth by principal section do you mean in the Note section of the property box? Is there a certain format that it has to be inserted in 10:10pm or 22:10 or some other way? Can I also say you lot are dragging me into a pl...

Re: Create Source From Template- Problem
Hi all I have copied and pasted the line that Tlwa01 into line 759 and put a blank line under it (as there was one there before I rudely used the space). It has cured my problem, so thanks for that Tlwa01. I presume what I have done won't cause any other problems with the plugin and if for any other...

Thanks Tlwa01
Doesn't help me one bit as I don't have a clue what to do with the information you have supplied and to be quite honest having read it, I am not sure that I want to know either .
Again thanks for your reply.

If I had a clue about what you were talking about Helen (existinf=g) I would do something about it . I can quite happily wait until all is well with the templates and yourself.

Re: Create Source From Template- Problem
Well I did my marriage and added it using a template and it did almost everything, I never updated my wife's name and never added witnesses although it did add the Minister to the witnesses. So still not worth doing it this way as I can't trust it as most of my tree uses the Scottish templates. Mayb...
