Re: Trivial question on forum avatar size

I'll leave it here -- you might pick up some support when the board is busier.

Is there something out of the ordinary about your image? I'd be happy to try shrinking it.

Re: Trivial question on forum avatar size

Plus 100 x 100 fits in nicely with our theme and doesn't impact performance overly for those of our members who don't have fast Internet.

Re: Trivial question on forum avatar size

Yep, and we set it to reduce our storage costs. Really? How much does this storage cost that increasing the size of a few 100 avatars from 6k to something more contemporary breaks the bank?! I'm astonished, given how little storage actually costs!!!! My icon (which I use in a lot of places) is just...

Re: Trivial question on forum avatar size

Apologies for the triviality of this, but why are forum avatars so tiny? It's 2024, 100x100 at 6kB seems a little antiquated! I thought I'd actually set mine up, tried to upload and have spent 15 minutes failing to scale an image small enough! Not exactly important, but as I understand it the forum...

When you say 'it was raised' did you raise a ticket with Calico pie? If not go to https://support.calico-pie.com/open.php to do so. Its unlikely that anyone else can help.

Re: Named List programmable access

I hope they don’t use Media as a template - I still find the dual routes in horribly confusing. My feeling is that the original posting summarised what was wanted clearly, and later discussion drifted into suggesting how . CP will have the best view of how to balance the needs of the tiny minority ...

Re: Named List programmable access

You're right that some record types already have two UI windows. It would probably be easier for new users if they didn't but that's another discussion.

I don't think we can rely on user ignorance to make the UI make sense :)

Re: Named List programmable access

To be honest, I did not pay any attention to UI implications, because CP have probably already resolved them and IMO the current UI is perfectly adequate so why change it. I agree, but by making Named Lists a new record type, they'd either have to appear in the Records Window in addition to the Nam...

Re: Named List programmable access

I'd have liked some time to consider your suggested implementation, which may not form part of the Wish List item itself but is linked from it. I don't think you've paid enough attention to the UI implications.

I understand. Slowing a YouTube video slows the voice as well and makes it unusabe.

Re: Recommendations on good video for FH7 Diagrams

Gary, if you go to Videos in the Knowledge Base and click through the title to an article, it will tell you which versions of FH a video applies to, if you want to avoid videos made for older versions. Bear in mind, a video is unlikely to be remade for V7 if most of what it shows is still valid even...

Re: Better ways to find where records are used

I think it should be possible to agree a set ob objectives (like your comprehensive result set) without specifying the ui details. CP will have their own design direction for the UI so why waste effort second guessing them. Maybe include some words about 'readily accessible' from wherever it shoule ...

Re: Where does FH store its diagram icon files?

tatewise wrote: 27 Feb 2024 10:30 As far as I recall, the current set of Icons was introduced with the release of FH V7 years ago.

The FHUG KB 2021 Converted Icons provides most of the icon downloads in the new “emf” format used by FH V7.
Worth mentioning those icons don't have transparent backgrounds.
