Show Project Statistics plugin and fact flags
I have only just become aware of this plugin, following its mention in the "Change Specific Fact - Error on run" thread. What a useful tool. I have already fixed several date typos in my project that I might otherwise never have discovered. I have a number of individuals though, where I ha...

Re: Most Recent Common Ancestor (MRCA) Fact Item
Have a look at Jane's Gedmatch custom fact: details and an explanation in an article linked from the knowledge base - DNA>Recording DNA Matches>Useful External Links>Recording DNA Matches in Family Historian. The matched individuals and MRCA(s) are recorded in the fact note and easily retrievable vi...

Re: Maximum length of %FACT.NOTES2& (or {note}), information being truncated
Yes, instead of using data ref {%FACT.NOTE2%} use template code {note} and the Note text should appear in full. I did not double-check the {note} code as the OP, Phillip, said he had tried it. However, that should work. Just as an example, almost the whole page of text in the attachment, following ...

Re: Maximum length of %FACT.NOTES2& (or {note}), information being truncated
I have not experienced this issue and have some long notes attached to various facts, but I tend to individually customise the fact sentence for each fact where I want to include a note attached to the fact, and just use {note} in the customised fact sentence template, rather then referencing it via...

Re: Help with box condition expression please
Thanks Mike, you are right that I would prefer to keep the formatting in the notes.
I will have a go at copying and pasting a tab into the expression tomorrow, and will also report the issue to CP.
Thank you again for your help.

Re: Help with box condition expression please
Thanks again Mike. I have it working now, after a fashion as I'll explain. But I never would have done it without your help, because I couldn't get your expression to work at first either. It turns out to be due to the fact that I used tabs between the label and the text field in my fact notes. Havi...

Re: Help with box condition expression please
Ah, thanks Mike. I did think that referencing the correct note might be the problem, but wasn't sure how to resolve it. However, there are two or more Gedmatch facts for many individual records, because as expected, my brother and I both share matches to many individuals, and I create a separate fac...

I have been using Jane's Gedmatch custom event and query for some time, and have a DNA helix icon set against diagram boxes for DNA matches to myself or other primary links (the person whose DNA test is matched against by the individual in the diagram box) using the expression %INDI.EVEN-GEDMATCH% a...

Re: Tracing an Ancestor in the Police Force
An email address beginning with "archives" may not exist for every force. If you have a clear and detailed image and approximate date, it may be possible to identify or narrow down the force concerned from details of the uniform, such as collar insignia other than the numbers, the shape of...

Re: 1841 census showing children who were dead
However, unlike 1911, in 1841 the people did not enter their own census details but they were compiled by an enumerator. Agreed Mike, but Sallion asked if anyone else had come across deceased people appearing in a census and how they recorded it. Mick and I both gave our opinions in answer to that ...

Re: 1841 census showing children who were dead
I had similar on a 1911 census schedule. I assumed it happened because the father had to enter the number of children born in the marriage, and irrespective of the number still alive, perhaps assumed he had to name all those who were born, still alive or not. I amended the fact sentence to include n...

Re: Findmypast 1921 census discount
When viewing the household image (schedule) on FMP, there is a link to additional information/address or a similarly named button (I'm not at my PC right now to check exactly what the link button is called). Clicking on it will open a "filmstrip" of additional related document images, whic...

Re: Grandad's multiple (old) certificates
A bit of googling found this, from Hansard, debated on Monday 27th February 1928: Mr. C. EDWARDS asked the President of the Board of Education whether he is aware that children entering the elementary schools or when seeking employment can, by filling up a prescribed form, obtain a birth certificate...

This is another - my grandmother's, issued for the purposes of the Factory and Workshop Act, 1901 when she was thirteen.
The declaration on the reverse, completed and signed by her father, stated that it was "required to enable her to go into service".

Re: are the same couple married twice 7 Years apart?

Re: GRO & FreeBMD sources - how to demerge B, M & D
With the risk that I am missing something obvious, and bearing in mind that I only use generic source records, this is how I record BMD sources. Title: Birth (or Death) SMITH, Arthur 1905 Q2 Bingham, Nottinghamshire or for marriages, Title: Marriage SMITH, Albert & JONES, Ada 1925 Q2 Basford, No...

It is impossible to know which might be correct, although depending on the circumstance...

Re: BMD District, Sub-district and County.
You can create a template with the desired headings included, but I don't think it is possible to autofill the registration district and sub-district locations, as that would require associated input fields to be written into the AS BMD input screens, as otherwise AS has no knowledge of that informa...
