Online databases e.g WVR, Findmypast and Ancestry
I like Ancestry as I find it more flexible. I use the Yorkshire and London PRs a lot, and I have been filling quite a few people on the Electoral Rolls.
I find that if you tick UK records only, that is what you get.

I have 5 projects and several geds all of which I access quite happily with FH4. I did find the upgrade to version 4 quite confusing for an hour or so, but I resolved my problems be reading Help pages not by blaming everyone else. I also think you owe Jane an apology, she spends a lot of time lookin...

Working with fact sets
Both. At various times I have created a 'witness' event to describe someone as a witness at a wedding, later I have created a 'witness to' event for the same purpose. On top of everything else I have a miscellaneous event which contains witness events. It is a mess.

Working with fact sets
I have decided to 'tidy up' my fact sets since over the years I have created and imported facts and now have several that overlap each other. I am not sure of the best way to do this, I would like to do something like 'work with data' where I can choose places or occupations and then 'replace with' ...

For those of you interested, I noticed while looking for a burial that some transcribers have missed surnames because the register includes extra information, so if instead of George Lee aged 5 it says George son of William Lee, aged 5 you will only find him if you search by George with no surname. ...

The Amazon link does not appear to be working, I usually go on to Amazon through FHUG website so you get your commission.
The Amazon Store link works, but I can't seem to sign in from the page it takes me to.

2011 UK census
I am mystified by the 2011 census, the paper version tells you to complete it on or soon after 27th March but I was able to complete it online last night, before I knew if I was going to have any visitors. I expected to fill it in so far and have to wait until the correct date to complete it but it ...

I went to WDYTYA live just to get the ancestry discount on renewals, they also offered them for new members. I do know that the saving on my annual worldwide renewal paid for our trip to London and a good bit more, also I enjoyed seeing the various stands and listening to the lectures.

Go to TOOLS then Preferences, click on Estimates tabs and you can set your own preferred minimum/maximum ages, then if you enter something outside these bands it will flash up a warning

Thanks for the quick response. Since I already had some repository records I have used the Custom ID to say either address or repository (so I can find them!)
It seems to be working well.
