"All Pool Relatives Except Partner Ancestors" Missing Some Direct Relatives
This is a little bit of an off-shoot from my previous topic 16414|Display Multiple Relationships in Pedigree Diagrams . I select myself and run the Plug-In All Pool Relatives Except Partner Ancestors . Using the results from that Plug-In, I then created a new FH project for just my side of the famil...

Re: Display Multiple Relationships in Pedigree Diagrams
Mike, I was going to experiment with your suggestions today, but quickly realized that I am unsure as to how to implement these expressions. Are these expressions supposed to be typed into the Diagram Options>Text>Edit> Edit Text Scheme Item box under Template for the Relationship to File Root box? ...

Great suggestions, Mike. I will play around with those and see what I can generate.

Re: How to Suppress Spouse's Family from All Relatives Diagram
This time around is a little different from last year's topic. Back then, I did create a separate FH project for my wife's side of the family and everything worked fine. However, this time around, I am not trying to create a separate FH project for my wife's lineage, i.e., I am trying to work within...

Re: Display Multiple Relationships in Pedigree Diagrams
Perhaps it would be best to give a specific example of what is happening, versus what I would like to happen. With me as the Root individual, Henry I Beauclerc (c.1068-1135) is listed in the All Relatives diagram property box as Relationship to L. Ward (me): "wife's great (x28) grandfather"...

Re: How to Suppress Spouse's Family from All Relatives Diagram
Lorna,
Yes, you are correct. During the past hour, I have been playing around with finding all those common ancient links and turning off their descendant expansion buttons. That seems to be working.
Thanks,
Bob

Display Multiple Relationships in Pedigree Diagrams
My family tree goes back nearly 1700 years and includes numerous royal families in Medieval times. Due to marriages between relatives within some of these ancient families, I have multiple relationship paths to these ancient people and their descendants. Is there a way to specify which of these mult...

Re: How to Suppress Spouse's Family from All Relatives Diagram
I tried those techniques yesterday but my wife's lineage still shows up. I think the problem is that we share multi-great grandparents back in Medieval times.
I don't know if it makes any difference, but I always use the horizontal layout instead of the vertical layout for my tree diagrams.

Re: Size Limitation on FH PDF Files?
I will do some more experimenting, Mike. Maybe I can find an acceptable compromise. Whether I break the tree down to separate root/mother & root/father diagrams, I still get a really long tree that goes back 48 generations on both sides, due to some common multi-great grandparents back in the Mi...

Re: Size Limitation on FH PDF Files?
The objective here is to print a diagram to a single page pdf file that can be sent to relatives. They will then open it on their computer and zoom in and navigate around the diagram to see whomever they want. In order to get the single page format, I have to scale the diagram down to 30% to fit on ...

Re: Size Limitation on FH PDF Files?
An update using the Pdf995 PDF printer. It will print my diagram at 300 dpi, but not at 600 dpi.
So, it appears to suffer a similar size limitation as the FH PDF printer.

Re: Size Limitation on FH PDF Files?
Well, that article you refer to does state exactly what happened in my case, i.e., “If no PDF file is produced, there may be no error message, but probably the maximum PDF page size has been exceeded. Check the adjustments above, and try reducing the Resolution (dpi) to 300 or lower.” Guess I will t...

Size Limitation on FH PDF Files?
I am trying to print an ALL RELATIVES diagram to an FH pdf file. The diagram is set up for a custom paper size of 128.5" x 128.5". When I configure the Print Setup to a resolution of 360 dpi, the diagram will print to an FH pdf file. The only problem that I have with the resulting file is ...

Another useful tip that might fall under this general topic. A case may arise, where upon opening FH , you might want to immediately go to the last person whose profile you were working on when you last exited FH . All you have to do is click the Records Window icon (upper left side of the screen), ...

Re: Printing relationnship in reports
Brian,
I only use the ISR format for my reports, so I can't offer any tips on getting your relationship request to appear in the Narrative report format. However, I am sure that Mike, or others, will be along shortly to help you with that.

Re: Customising Records window
I don't think Jane was referring to Custom IDs. She is talking about the standard Record ID, which is what you were asking for, i.e.,
from Jane's reply:
Take the Father's data reference from your added column and wrap it with
=Recordid(...)
Replace ... With the reference.

Re: Citing Ancestry.com Sources in FH
That entire book is downloadable on Ancestry.com. If you can find the page number that your relatives are listed on, go to that page and download it and attach it as a Source record. In such instances, I always also attach a copy of the title page. If you do not know what page they are on, do a name...

Re: One Drive and Family Historian
All of my backups go to 3 external hard drives. My working copy of my Project file resides on my computer’s hard drive, and, gets backed up to my external hard drives on a nearly daily basis. I would never trust an Internet storage site for keeping my working copy of my FH project file, or, as a bac...

Warning Message During Full Backup
I do a Full Backup of my FH project file after every work session. Been doing this for years. During the backup yesterday, an odd message popped up that I do not understand the cause of. A screen-shot of the message is attached. Anyone have any idea as to what this means, and, what I could have poss...

Re: Diagram 'Options'
That may be a default condition. When I create a diagram and first put my mouse cursor into one of the boxes and hold the left mouse button, I get the same thing, I.e., the small cross that creates a dotted line when the mouse cursor is extended beyond the box boundary. As you probably noticed, if y...
