Options won't be touched by updates and if any auto text templates update templates you've modified, you'll be warned and given the choice as to whether to update.

Well the page on the screen was in portrait mode so if you're saving that it makes sense that it will be formatted in portrait. I think opinions would differ. Personally I wouldn't add them to my family tree but would just add them in the source text manually.
