Re: Inserting FH created web site into WordPress
I am the author of that plugin that @Mervyn mentions and it has moved on considerably from the initial version of 4 years ago. However in answer to your question yes it can be done BUT it is not easy. The website created by FH uses HTML files and to incorporate those files is what is the challenge. ...

Re: Source Template for Obituary
You could take a look at a video I did some time ago on auto source citation (this pre-dated templates) and it deals with a US obituary. It may give you another way to enter them. https://youtu.be/PrBOcHAwc1o

You will need to raise that as a ticket with CP direct, they do not actively monitor the forum as it is independent of them.

Re: Running Family Historian on Crossover
@Mike I wrote the original article. However, I have just update Crossover over the years and it works fine. I am not prepared to do a delete and re-install of the current version of Crossover as what I now have works fine and it took some time initially to get it to that state. What we need is a new...

I use Firefox with the 'Cookie Quick Manager' plugin. I suspect there will be something similar for Chrome.

Re: Enhanced plugin editor
Several IDE's do have support for LUA and not all are paid. Such as https://studio.zerobrane.com/ however not being a LUA coder I don't know how good they are. My son who is a coder for a living rates IntelliJ from JetBrains which has a LUA plugin. I use PhpStorm from JetBrains and whilst it is norm...

Re: One-Name Studies and FH
Jessie I too do a Surname Study in to the Lefever and variants names. I do mine a little differently in that I have a project per country as I have found few who migrate between countries and those that do it is easy just to export their record and then import it into the other countries project. I ...

Re: Moving from Family Tree Maker to Family Historian
Colin, as identified in the above posting and the links in the Wish List entry, not all details are preserved to everyone's satisfaction. I don't think it makes much difference whether it is Project or a standalone GEDCOM. Mike, as I said it stores all MY layout without issue that is why I asked fo...

FH stores my window layout settings fine. Can you post a screenshot of your layout that is not being saved? Do you have a project or are you just opening the gedcom from FTM?

I put the date in your case Q4 1871 in the 'Entry Date' field and Glasgow Vol 56 Page ddcd in the 'Text from Source' field. Have you tried this as I think that they will export as you wish?

Re: Advice on a 'One Person' study
Helen For my One Name study I did this for when there was ready online access to the US Social Security Death Index. I scraped the data into an excel spreadsheet and massaged it in Excel and then did a CSV import to FH using my own CSV to Gedcom conversion tool. I then used the Find Duplicates plugi...

Re: KB Downloads
I have found the issue and corrected it for the Downloads section of the KB. I will take a look at the others and if I can I will re-enable it on the other sections of the KB that @Mike identified. This was caused by the update to get the glossary working again. Update: The other 2 sections are now ...

Rather than using the print option on transcripts you can always use the copy to clipboard option and then paste that direct into notes / citation or wherever.

Re: The Perfect Genealogical Software
Yes that is definitely true but I don't know how well that would work practically (are there other packages that use GEDCOM as their main file system?). Someone I know still uses PAF (don't ask) but after me telling them about AS they export a Gedcom make several AS entries and then re-import the n...

Attached is the query I use and it has a column headed with 1921 and has a value of Find or Yes if I have already found it. It is a zip file so will need to be extracted before it can be installed. You may find it useful.
