Branch Merge / Compare- How?

Lorna

Thanks for the encouragement.

Certainly if it wasn't for AS I would have given up on FH by now.

I will keep at it for a few more days.

Branch Merge / Compare- How?

Lorna Thank you for your reply. Whilst you are not one of the recognised 'Experts' you have certainly been very helpful to me. I am certainly struggling with the whole way that FH works. I have been using PAF for so long that I suppose any new programme would be alien. FH is certainly trying my pati...

Branch Merge / Compare- How?

Sorry for the questions but I am really struggling to find this option. I have read the PDF and it says that this option is available BUT where? There is no description in the pdf on how to actually do it. I have 2 families that I have duplicated one from the 1861 census and the other from the 1891....

Find duplicate individuals?

Lorna, Thanks once again for your help. The underlying issue for me is that the name I am researching has several variants and I have found that they change between the variants as they age going backwards and forwards in spelling. It is what can make one-name studies a challenge. I have downloaded ...

Data not going accross to Family Historian

Lorna

Yes there is only one project other than the sample one that I have created.

What I did was close the project and then re-open it and all the records are now there.

Very odd but now resolved.

Thank you for your help.

Find duplicate individuals?

Thanks Lorna I will give it a try. I am using FH for a one-name study and so I have lots of unconnected individuals. When a new piece of data becomes available I do a search for an existing person in my database and use the record if possible. But I have been getting some records by gedcom from othe...

Data not going accross to Family Historian

FH was open when I was editing in AS. I did however tell AS to edit the FH project file not the gedcom that created the project file. I never got any warning message at all.

How do I tell which Gedcom file that AS was editing?

Data not going accross to Family Historian

The census data that I am inputting into Ancestral Sources is not being carried across to Family Historian. I have been saving it. If I check the AS backup file the data is there BUT it isn't being reflected in Family Historian.

Anyone got any bright ideas?

Thanks

Colin

Find duplicate individuals?

I am considering moving to Family Historian and am making use of the 30 day trial version currently. One thing that seems to be missing that is in most other programmes is 'Find Duplicate Individuals'. I understand that this is not built in. Is there an easy way to do this and then merge the records...
