Reading this it looks as though the latest version of Crossover, 14.0.3, requires a Win7 bottle for FH5. My original Crossover install for FH5 was in Crossover v13. Once I am happy with FH6 under Crossover 14 I will try a new FH5 on Win7 bottle and see where we go from there.

As I expected there is no way to do this according to Codeweavers support other than to do a manual import in RegEdit.

My memory isn't great but I thought I had to add it to even get FH5 running but it was some time ago so I could well be wrong. I know I had to add something and thought it was that. It is a b....r getting old I will have a root through the old FH5 bottle and see if I can find what it was.

I have raised a ticket but my reading of the documentation is no so it will have to be a manual import into Regedit but I will confirm when I have heard back from Codeweavers.

Re: Problem installing FH5 on a Mac under Crossover
Colin You have missed something I think. Have you read the Knowledgebase article? See http://www.fhug.org.uk/wiki/doku.php?id=how_to:install_family_historian_with_crossover_wine. You do need to install Windows Script 5.7. See the screenshot and then follow the instructions in my earlier post Screen ...

Re: Problem installing FH5 on a Mac under Crossover
Colin Crossover has changed slightly in this latest version. I suggest you start again with a new XP bottle. Install FH don't upgrade it. Don't run the bottle. Right click on the bottle and select 'Install software into....' option. Then one at a time add the additional programmes mentioned in the K...

I didn't include the Windows Script 5.7 in the Win7 bottle as I expected it to have been included in the Win7 bottle. Now understanding that it isn't a real Win7 environment I have added it and the AS Data Entry plugin now works.

The net framework is only required for AS FH runs fine without it.
I will add it in to the knowledgebase.

Re: V6 and Crossover MAC
Mike No AS data entry does not run it says that AS is not installed. Run on v5 & XP attached. Also see this thread, it appears that the bottle is not a genuine Win7 environment but just an XP one spoofing the programme into thinking it is running on Win7. https://www.codeweavers.com/support/foru...

Re: V6 and Crossover MAC
Mike No joy still the same see the attached only run in the new v6 bottle with AS4.5. Your data entry plugin still doesn't pick up that AS is installed. Regedit was supported under XP I need to find out if it is under Win7 as it isn't installed by default and I can't find it in the list of supported...

Re: V4.5 on Mac under Crossover problem
Mike As both FH and AS are an 'unsupported application' the support from Codeweavers is very limited. There is no need to use the Crosstie as with the current version of Crossover installing Net Framework into a bottle is an option. I have just deleted the FH6 bottle and created a new Win7 one. I ha...

V4.5 on Mac under Crossover
I have now confirmed that the Win 7 bottle is also 32bit. I cannot get v4.5 of AS to install in either of the existing bottles XP for v5 and Win7 for v6. I can get v4.5 of AS to install in its own Win7 bottle but I need to add the Net Framework. On install Crossover states that v3.5sp1 of the Net fr...

v4.01 32bit in the FH5 bottle and nothing in the V6 I haven't resolved those problems yet as I have been doing this instead. FH5 bottle is 32bit. and I will check the Win7 one.
I will try the new plugin in the morning.

Mike Response from Codeweavers Hello, According to http://superuser.com/questions/405097/are-c-programdata-and-c-users-all-users-the-same-do-i-need-both either path is valid in Windows 7. Crossover continues to use the older C:\Users\AllUsers notation to be backwards compatible with WinXP & Win9...

V4.5 on Mac under Crossover problem
Nick v4.0.1 runs perfectly under Crossover on a Mac. I have just upgraded to 4.5 and had to create a new 'bottle' as FH v6 needs Windows 7 not XP which is what the old version of AS was running in. It was a painless install in XP with 4.0.1 but unfortunately 4.5 does not seem to be the same. It inst...

It is a Registry error see the attached.
It is the same error message with v2.2 and 2.3 of the plugin.
Is it possible to manually enter the registry keys before running the plugin? If I can is it likely to fix the problem?
