Re: Adding Ship Pictures

It's ... erm ... interesting. I'm looking at a chap who served in the RN during WW1. I have images of most of his ships ("stone frigates" excepted) and they are linked to the relevant Military Service facts (the value of the attribute is the name of the ship in question). I just bring up t...

To go back to the OLD VERSION [of Acrobat Reader] click on Menu, Click on Disable New Acrobat Reader (4 options above Preferences), click Restart and enjoy what we all are used to.
No doubt it only postpones the evil day but maybe it will be slightly better.

Re: Saving Reports

That's Adobe Acrobat Reader that you're looking at. It changed quite recently - I didn't realise that it had ,until I opened it up to find, as you have there, an interface that throws away everything that went before. I keep losing the magnifying glass to zoom with because it's now in a place where ...

Re: Adding a blank line after a note field in Narrative Reports?

What am I missing? I get a gap in my narrative reports automatically. Screenshot 2024-02-06 215226.jpg The text starting "George retired..." is the note to the occupation fact for his occupation 1881-1918. You can see that there is a blank line before the March 1891 residence fact. I have ...

Re: Trying to import Census Reference info for use in FTAnalyzer

That may well be true Adrian, but the online records mostly seem to omit the space. e.g. Ancestry, FindMyPast, Lost Cousins, etc. Indeed - and, as I said, it seems not to matter for TNA's Discovery Catalogue these days. Hence loads of people haven't learnt that there ought to be a space there. (&qu...

Re: Trying to import Census Reference info for use in FTAnalyzer

Just to let my inner pedant off the leash a little... Strictly speaking the references at TNA have a space between the letters (Department Code) and numbers (Series Number) of the class. So it's actually "RG 15" with a space in the middle, not "RG15". I don't think it matters at ...

While I tend never to look at Notifications, they are a useful alert if someone's quoted me so I wouldn't want that facility cluttered up by notifications about replies to whatever topics are deemed to be of interest to me. As I've said, I always go to "Unread Posts" so learn about all new...

Re: Adding marriage without a spouse

Slightly round the houses but I did it by adding a spouse, then adding the marriage date, then deleting the just created individual who was the spouse. You must leave the Family Record there because that's where the marriage event is kept. Of course, the issue is that there is no obvious name for th...

Do we need to add a requirement that a report saved in DOCX / ODT / whatever should look like the native FH Report? Perhaps the most basic option is the Primary / Secondary divide.
