Importing Findmypast record matches
I have accepted a findmypast record match and wondering what does this actually do as the data does not appear against the individual. The record I would like to add is a 1901 census return for a father of my grandmother. In the past I have used Ancestral Sources for adding Census returns (as recomm...

6.2.5 upgrade and settings backup plugin
Hi All, I have just upgraded from FH 6.2.2 to 6.2.5. My charts would appear to still have the custom settings from a quick eyeball. Although thought I would use the "backup and restore family historian settings 2.7" plugin to restore chart text customization and get the following error mes...

Re: notes for born event truncated
My thinking was getting round to that so thanks for feedback.
I have finally got back another generation and so much detail thanks to the Toppersfield Overseer of the poor!
Nothing in the Bastardy bonds, settlement papers, quarter session records etc.
Kind regards Jonathan.

Re: notes for born event truncated
Thanks Mike that is were I thought I was heading.
I asked the question because the flexibility of FH has, on more than one occasion, exceeded my expectation of the functionality/flexibility and was wondering.
Once again many thanks for your help and time.

Re: notes for born event truncated
Yes my inserted trees are saved and exist when chart re-opened. Happy with inserting trees and how they appear, saved and re-opened charts. Trying to explain myself here and failing miserably. Let me try a scenario:- 1. Generate a chart with a root person with the all relatives option. 2. Can modify...

Re: notes for born event truncated
Yes I meant charts.
Is it possible to change the root person for a chart that has been previously generated with inserted trees?

I now have the following formula that gives the desired display:- =ExistsText(%INDI.BIRT%,"Born:") %INDI.BIRT.DATE:COMPACT% %INDI.BIRT.PLAC:TIDY%=CombineText(", address: ",%INDI.BIRT.ADDR%,,)=CombineText(", note: ",GetParagraph(%INDI.BIRT.NOTE2%,1),,) Looked at the box ...

I have added a birth event with notes and the notes are truncated; see insert. Prior to this screen shot I had many notes regarding a custom event that I removed to reduce the text displayed. born note.JPG The formula I have for the birth event is:- =ExistsText(%INDI.BIRT%,"Born:") %INDI.B...

Hi Mike,
Where do I set parents partnership status as never married?
Think I am okay with recording and displaying on a chart the other detail thanks to your advice.

Father of baseborn child
William Brooks Dowsett was "brought into the congregation" 26 Dec 1812 and listed as a baseborn (illegitimate) child. Through the Toppesfield Overseer of the poor records I am confident that I now have the father; a Geo. Brooks (also named in the accounts of the overseer as George). Overse...

Thanks Mike,
I had missed this post although noticed some interesting "born" events on the chart. I removed the [1+] and all looks good.

Re: Relation to head in chart
1. The expression contains both functions so I removed %INDI.FAMC>CENS.ADDR% ; I have not manually added Census (family) events. 2. Understood. 3. Removed. 4. I have small number of records were I wanted to report relationship. So have a solution that works for. 5. Okay. Thanks for your help again; ...

Re: Relation to head in chart
I am trying to display the relationship to the head of the household and thought AS may have populated a data record. This expression was originally cloned and I have only added "%INDI.FAMC[1+].PEDI%". 1. I understand point 1 is displaying the address from the census record, which is being...

Relation to head in chart

Re: All relatives chart
Mike here are my current tree text functions and the first picture is the edit box. These I cloned before modifying other parts of the test scheme (not the all events schema). These look like "nested" text schemes and have not looked at these before with regard to how to create/modify. Any...

Re: All relatives chart
Hi Mike, Tried the descendant tree and result posted below. It does show hubbys and also duplicates the descendants that gets a little busy on the chart. I have cut some areas of the tree as there are two descendants (one knows most and the other probably not looking) although I have to respect thei...

Voted and will try suggestions when I next add a new person to chart. In the mean time I have entered the 3 husbands with a view to insert them in, which I have done. Re: All relatives chart
I have another example where a direct male descendant marries, the male descendant dies. His widow then remarries although is not displayed on the tree when added. I am assuming because she is not a direct descendant; is that correct? She then divorces the second husband and marries a third. Second ...
