Re: Release of Version 7

Thank you Mike. Yes - having read that discussion in the link FH7 Looks, I decided via a FH support ticket to ask Simon directly for an update on version 7. Seems to have done the trick :D

Re: Release of Version 7

Thank you Martin. I think that answers my question. I too came from TMG 9 and thought about opting in to assist with testing. But thought it would be oversubscribed so I didn't bother.

Re: Help with Query Issue

Hi Karinf

Try this modified version of John's Census UK Property Box. Remember the 1939 Register did not ask for age info. So this field is deliberately left blank. Although it could be calculated of course.

Re: Export Source Records Only

Thanks Mike - Much appreciated. I can cope with the sync issues I was just toying with the idea of minimising effort. Yes I accept it was a big leap to split, but I feel much more in control of the cleanup and recheck activities working with Direct Ancestors only for the near term. Essentially the m...

Re: Export Source Records Only

Hi Mike. The Source did remain in both Projects but I had lumped all research documents for 11 different families into one Source being the Professional Researcher who uncovered all the info. So this one Source was cited against many Individuals and contained documents that were unrelated to them. S...

Re: Export Source Records Only

Yes Mike. I'm well aware of your 'frowns' on this - I split my main tree into two trees (ALL) and (Direct Ancestors Only) to allow for a controlled and focused Cleanup and Re-Assess. The full tree will be rebuilt when Release 7 comes about. Hopefully sometime this year :)

Re: Export Source Records Only

Hi Mike Thanks for the reply. The Sources I had in mind to copy are Researcher based Sources containing research documentation as MS - Word and PDF files. It would just save me time having to recreate in other Projects also containing the same families. I take your point about Links etc. Probably mo...

Export Source Records Only

Hi Forum
Is it possible to export Source records from one FH Project for use in another Project?. Just the Source records or a selection of Source records.

Many thanks

Re: Help with Query Issue

Hi Mike. You raise a very good point, unfortunately this is a consequence of me diving in with AS and not fully realising the consequences or best approach to use such a tool. I will make some data checks to ensure duplication is 100% which I think it will be; and then start a further clean up task ...

Re: Help with Query Issue

Hi Mike. I tend not to record places against Census records unless it is certain the occupation occurs at the Place and Address given. EG Servant or Domestic Maid. Still no real certainty but that's how I do it. But then there's the Census Residence Fact. I would need to check those. Do i just chang...

Re: Help with Query Issue

Hi Mike
I just re-read your earlier post and it seems I have done something different than what you suggested. Sorry. It looks like I need further guidance from you. I don't think my data meets the criteria for Citation Order.

Re: Help with Query Issue

Hi Mike A little better using the Fact Type Query in that the Source record counts are now correct. However, the query also captures facts for Birth where the Census records supports that Event. But I can't find a way to suppress those Fact types. The filter for %Fact% doesn't allow any conditions t...

Help with Query Issue

Hi Forum I'm trying to construct a Query for UK Census Fact by Census year and have the associated Place and Address details displayed. I don't want to use the Where Used Record Links or the List All Citations for a Source Plugins as this clouds my view with other data such as Names, Birth related i...

Re: Census Place, how do you decide what is right

One more thing. I was aware about scrolling backwards and forward to see what might have been missed. But I had no idea that page 1 gave the detail for the area and places recorded. That was a very welcome discovery. Also the links provided are excellent.

Thanks once again everyone.
