Re: Why has my information gone public?

When you search for matches, Family Historian uploads some of the data to compare. It does not permanently upload the information. Are you sure you are not looking at the information from your DB which is used to compare to records offered. This page explains in detail how the matching works. https...

Re: Why has my information gone public?

What is the scam though? FH does matches to FindMyPast and MyHeritage. If you don't have paid subscriptions to those sites, then they will ask you to pay to see the records, which is just the same as creating 'free' unsubscribed accounts on those websites, where you can search for records, but aske...

Re: Why has my information gone public?

Thanks Lorna I was misconstruing that My Heritage was going to send me back the same information that I had placed in FH family tree ( and thus my information had gone public! yikes) It appears it's saying there may be one public match in the MyHeritage data base that might be of interest to me. Pen...

Why has my information gone public?

HI there What have I done to allow my information to go public? When I clicked on the symbol for "matches" it's just throwing back at me the information I have inputted into the FH software. I do realise it's a scam, asking for money to see my own record. The whole reason I purchased softw...

Re: How do I set up a "place" independently?

Thanks Helen appreciate your help and I'll give that a go. The places will be linked to people - for instance:- The house my father built with his father - but also the location of it, because they lived on the land in a caravan first. The house is now demolished. I'm quite computer literate - I cre...

How do I set up a "place" independently?

I have a photo of a person taken in front of a building or location.
I want to link it to the location/building.
The location /building is not in any personal record but is important to the whole story.

I've read through the Help and Knowledge Base.
TBH - I'm struggling overall!!

Why are these dashed boxes appearing?

HI there I've looked through the Help and cannot find the answer! ( Newbie here) When I select all relatives my GF Keresztely and his spouse Eva are repeated to their respective left and right to fit in with their siblings. Is this normal? It's not what I would like it to look like... http://tinyurl...
