Re: FH 7 install
Didn't think to unistall 7 beta before installing the FH7 upgrade over FH6.2. Could someone reassure me that it is OK to still just uninstall the beta copy and that it will have no effects on FH7 (I worked just on a test project with the beta installation so don't have any new customisations I wish ...

Re: Really Useful Show
I expect those of you who have posted here have been notified or otherwise found out that the talks are now available to people who had tickets for the show until the end of this week (21 Nov), but I thought I would post a note here in case it helped anyone. I too found the talks very interesting an...

Re: Dealing with two or more notes in a fact
Ignore query at end of last reply. I've now got into a routine of editing in the All tab and then deleting in the query results window and it is working OK. Only another 50 or so to go! Once again, many thanks.

Re: Dealing with two or more notes in a fact
Many thanks for the Custom query Jane. As well as making use of it I will have a look at the coding behind it as I must try to get my head round queries properly. I have now produced a list and printed it out so that I can check off people dealt with - I'm glad I asked and found the 'unshown' notes ...

Dealing with two or more notes in a fact
Is there any reasonably straightforward way to either display a second local fact note in the Properties window or to list individuals and ideally the relevant fact that has two or more such notes. When I had my tree in FMP it was fairly easy to add a 2nd note to the same fact and I must have done t...

Re: Help with Query Issue
Thanks David for the updated Property tag box, and Mike for reminding me about the Downloads section of the Knowledge base. I had already found this but hadn't investigated it fully as I want to concentrate on getting my current data a bit more consistently entered before I get too sidetracked by an...

Re: Help with Query Issue
Thanks John Elvin for your customised queries and property box tab included in this thread. They do things very useful for me, but which I hadn't as yet got round to investigating how to do - if that makes sense! However, with the Property box Census UK tab 1891 seems to have just an Occupation box ...

Re: New user requesting confirmation that I am following best practice
Thanks Helen for your reply too. Your examples are more or less what I was thinking of doing too, so it's good to know it is a sensible approach for the kind of use I want to make of the information. Your 'scarpering' ancestor seems to have had quite a life!

Re: New user requesting confirmation that I am following best practice
Hi Mike Thanks for that. Although I had downloaded and looked at Ancestral Sources that had been in the light of Sources rather than dates and I had forgotten (or not noticed) that there was a separate Census date checker separate to the source template type aspects (which I am not using at present ...

Re: New user requesting confirmation that I am following best practice
Thanks to you both for your comments. Re 3. Military entries, I mainly envisage using the facts as a reminder that I have found papers relating to their military service so would put the dates of signing up and discharge and a Between type entry under dates and anything else (e.g. their regiment and...

New user requesting confirmation that I am following best practice
Hello, I am a new user of FH, having migrated my tree from FMP. FH has shown up all the inconsistencies in the way I have entered data and sources in the past (which included a migration from Ancestry to FMP) so I am trying to tidy up my current tree before researching or entering anything new. This...
