Thanks, I do remember that now, but I do not recall resetting that option.
Anyway problems solved.
Thanks

Source type issue
I noticed that some of my 1939 Register flags were not displaying on my descendants chart, but all other ones were. On investigating I discovered that there were a lot of 1939 Register sources created where the Source Type equalled "1939 Register", while a much smaller number had the type ...

Re: Offer to retain settings
Great, as you suspected, that was exactly the problem.
No idea how I managed to select that - I presume it must have been by accident/unwittingly. Anyway you've solved my problem.
Many thanks
Colin

Offer to retain settings
Recently I've noticed in the last few weeks that "Offer to retain settings " is not actually working (running v7.8.6). Never had time to investigate in detail till now however. I have input several Births today, and each time AS has closed after I complete the save after entering the data....

Re: Individual Narrative Report - Sentence problem
The evidence certainly proves that I had been playing with that format, but I have absolutely no recollection of doing so intentionally, I am quite happy to accept that I did so though.
Thanks again

Re: Individual Narrative Report - Sentence problem
As ever, thanks for the help, and again as ever you have got right to the heart of the problem. No need for <>. Thanks for that extra help. I have changed that (and a few other) Fact sentences accordingly. As it happens, when I referred to the Green colouring, I was referring to the fact sentence in...

Individual Narrative Report - Sentence problem
I'm having some issues with reports, which I am very very in-experienced at using, as I've been concentrating on collecting data rather than reporting, but now I need to meet with relatives and talk through some of my findings using the Individual Narrative Report. I have a custom attribute "Mi...

Re: 1921 Census Template
Thanks Nick & Brent,
Just input my first census since my post, and the entry after {CENSUSGRID} worked perfectly - exactly as I wanted.
Thanks again

Occupations in Census Template
I've lost count of the number of times I've type in "Unpaid Domestic Duties" or "Agricultural Labourer" and others. I would love to have some of these items pre-populated in a list As far as I can see, the Occupation Column in the template does not let me add a list. If I change ...

1921 Census Template
Looking at the 1921 Census, there is a box at the foot of the form which has (amongst other items) the number of rooms. Is there a way to record this text in the template? I would like to add something like "Number of rooms in property" to appear in the census Note. This would save manuall...

Adding Ship Pictures
I have created a custom Fact for "Travelled" , and amongst the data I capture is the ship name and line, saved as note labels. I would like to add a picture of the ship to some of these entries, but not sure of the best way to do it. So far, I have been adding it to the Individual's Media ...

Re: Check For Unlinked Media (FH7) - new plugin that can search in all locations
Looks good Mark. I ran the original plugin a few days ago and started linking the large number of files it reported. Your new version working on an external folder gives me a few more - over 600 in total - (but I have added some more files, and so I don't have an exact compare with the old version u...

Re: Directory Junctions
Ok I understand that, but most of us do not really have a knowledge of which "folders that never change or I don’t use". So that was what I was trying to get a feel for. I don't know enough to decide that any others would be better kept distinct between the laptop and desktop. I believe fr...

I hope this is the right sub-forum for this query. I am in the process of setting my laptop up to be able to use it while away from base visiting relatives interested in the family tree so I need t be able to replicate everything I see/use at home. Firstly, I have ensured that I have the latest vers...

Many thanks, another useful upgrade.
Seems to work perfectly for me so far. Default colour scheme is also just fine and no edits needed, although I did try a couple to test it worked on my system and no issues there.

Editing Census Templates
I have been editing some census Templates, using the "Copy From" facility to edit the Relation list. I deliberately chose the first "Copy From" entry on the (alphabetical) list to be my prime source, so I did not have to hunt for the right entry to copy from each time I edited a ...

Editing AS Census Templates
I have modified a few USA Census Templates - mostly cosmetic changes to try and save a bit of space. I changed the country to read "USA B" to keep them separate. I then used a file compare program to check that I hadn't made any unintended alterations. All seems fine except for one field <...

Re: Proposed Changes to the Forums
I think the reference to "too technical" might be looked at in a different way. Topics such as Mike referred to I'm thinking about customisations that require complex use of data references and functions such as in Queries, Text Schemes, Sentence Templates, Source Template Formats, etc. Of...

thumbcache.dat
Following on from 21799|Media Thumbnails , Mike Tate's reminder to delete thumbcache.dat prompted me to have a look. I discovered that there was no such file in my cache folder (using V7.0.19). I have deleted versions of this cache file in the past. Restarting FH made no difference, still no cache f...
