It works the old way. No croshair. Just taking the whole screen as it did earlier.
I have the same experience as Mike - just use the Prt Scrn button and get the crosshairs with no problem. Win10 Pro, latest version of FH.

Odd issue.

I'm in the minority - I actually LIKE the new hinting system. Much easier and faster. But I've always been an outlier :D

Re: Enter Reference ID warning...

I strongly recommend you should use the Ref ID box for your reference/citation rather than the 'Other Info', there's no reason I can think of to use the Other Info instead. If you would prefer AS to not automatically fill in the start of the Reference ID then go to the Options (under the Tools menu...

Enter Reference ID warning...

I'm fairly new to using AS and a tad confused. I just finished entering a 1911 census entry for my great-grandfather - the Reference ID was auto filled, yet when I go save the entry, I get a warning about not having a Reference ID, yet as far as I can see, it's been auto filled. What am I missing? S...

Re: Import of RM7 Citations

Thanks, Mark - I'll have a go this weekend and see what happens. Sounds very interesting and I'm curious to see the results :) Teresa The plugin is now ready for more general user testing. I have developed it using a tiny database that I constructed in RM, plus the FH Sample Project exported to RM, ...

Re: Import of RM7 Citations

Teresa, for most scenarios it will work well, especially if you make little use of the Bibliography. However, the publically published plugins needed to work for as many scenarios as there are users. So any limitations need to be made clear to users of the Bibliography that include Citation-specifi...

Re: Import of RM7 Citations

So that offers little hope of assistance with FM imports of RM Templates, which if FH offered Direct Import from RM then CP would have to consider how to handle RM Citation metafields in the RM Bibliography. The only chink is they say they will investigate and check it out. I'm a "bad" genealogist,...

Re: Import of RM7 Citations

@Teresa, the finished product (hopefully by end of this week) will import all your custom RM templates directly, along with re-creating all the source data granularity that is lost on the normal GEDCOM import. Going forward, you can create new templates directly in FH. It does everything that RM do...

Re: Import of RM7 Citations

If we do this test with a test database and have the templates created, can they then be added to our current permanent one?

Very intrigued by this as I create templates in RM all the time and have a lot that I could use in FH.

I'm just extrapolating from previous experience, Theresa -- we might get a nice surprise.
Will just have to keep fingers crossed! There's so much I'll need to see in the 1921 census, but only so much I can afford to spend to do so.

Re: FMP ... Again

I was about to make the point that the 1921 census is likely to be pay-per-view initially, based on how they've handled similar new large datasets before. That's disappointing...I had hoped maintaining my subscription (which I use regularly anyway) would mean I wouldn't have to pay extra for 1921. ...

I have seen it happen before the recent changes - all three big sites I use (Ancestry, FMP, FamilySearch) so have this issue from time to time. Re: FH7 : Using Evidence Explained Style

Teresa, with a bit of practice, editing and customising source templates is something most FH users will get to grips with. It doesn’t require any particular prior skills or experience. Creating a Data Entry Assistant to accompany that template is much more complex, but templated sources work fine ...

Helen,

No worries. I'll play around with it myself, though I'm far less experienced than you at building templates. Of course, an eighth day in the week would really help!

Re: FH7 : Using Evidence Explained Style

If it's any consolation, I find the Advanced collection of source templates are too US-focussed and will need to create custom versions to handle UK sources more easily. Re: Date Functions in Report Page Layout

This has been my solution as well. FH gives me the info I need, a word processor allows me to format it to my own standards. Change font size in Source template window?

Is it possible to change the font size in the Source template window? I haven't found a way yet, and hope I'm missing something obvious. I find it difficult, especially when I'm tired, to work in that window the small fonts. I love building my own templates so hope there's a solution.

Thanks,
