I'm just extrapolating from previous experience, Theresa -- we might get a nice surprise.
Will just have to keep fingers crossed! There's so much I'll need to see in the 1921 census, but only so much I can afford to spend to do so.

Re: FMP ... Again

I was about to make the point that the 1921 census is likely to be pay-per-view initially, based on how they've handled similar new large datasets before. That's disappointing...I had hoped maintaining my subscription (which I use regularly anyway) would mean I wouldn't have to pay extra for 1921. ...

Re: FMP Images

I have seen it happen before the recent changes - all three big sites I use (Ancestry, FMP, FamilySearch) so have this issue from time to time. Generally I can find what I need by going one image on either side. Teresa Thanks Adrian and Mike. It crossed my mind that it had only happened since they c...

Re: FH7 : Using Evidence Explained Style

Teresa, with a bit of practice, editing and customising source templates is something most FH users will get to grips with. It doesn’t require any particular prior skills or experience. Creating a Data Entry Assistant to accompany that template is much more complex, but templated sources work fine ...

Teresa, it isn't something I'll get round to any time soon, I'm afraid!
Helen,

No worries. I'll play around with it myself, though I'm far less experienced than you at building templates. Of course, an eighth day in the week would really help!

Re: FH7 : Using Evidence Explained Style

If it's any consolation, I find the Advanced collection of source templates are too US-focussed and will need to create custom versions to handle UK sources more easily. At least we've been handed the tools to do the customisation whereas 'Generic' sources were a PITA to structure :D I would love t...

Make spouse name BOLD in Diagram?

Me again. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but nowhere in the Diagram options can I find how to make the Spouse name bold. I'm using FH7 to create a series of trees for a family photo website my uncle is creating and want to have the spouse's name bold as well. Would some kind soul please poi...

Re: Date Functions in Report Page Layout

This has been my solution as well. FH gives me the info I need, a word processor allows me to format it to my own standards. Teresa Depending on the complexity of your report, it might be an option to save the report as a Word-Processor Document (RTF) and edit it there. I use that option for Family ...

Allow font size changes in ALL windows

Re: Change font size in Source template window?

Thanks, Mike - will do. I just wanted to be sure before I created the new request. Change font size in Source template window?

Is it possible to change the font size in the Source template window? I haven't found a way yet, and hope I'm missing something obvious. I find it difficult, especially when I'm tired, to work in that window the small fonts. I love building my own templates so hope there's a solution.

Thanks,

Re: FMP census and the 1939 register

I just noticed this thread hasn't been updated to reflect the fact we can now minimize the film strip at the bottom of the image using the All Pages button. Re: re-ordering children not working...

I'll double-check, but I generally don't use "date phrase". I'll also try in another of my databases, and if it happens in that one as well, I'll open a ticket. Thanks :) Teresa Thanks for the tip. Re: re-ordering children not working...

Hi Lorna, Thanks for the tip. And I had also tried Tools > Re-Order Out-of-Sequence data, but, because I was on Mary, rather than Joseph (without really thinking about it), that didn't work either. Or should it have, regardless of who was in focus at that point? Teresa The dark border indicates who ...

Re: re-ordering children not working...

Mark, I am pretty certain I was in Joseph, not Mary, but I just moved Mary back to her original position, and that appears to have been the case. re-ordering children not working...

I'm trying to get the children in a family to re-order, but even though the dates are clear, when I click on the gear and select Sort Family & Events in Date Order, it then tells me that there's nothing out of sequence. Yet there are. In the Bishop's Transcripts I found a second child by the same na...

Re: V7 PDF creation very slow, creating huge files

I haven't received the email yet and don't see where in the store to download it. Not that I need it this moment, but I recall with the last update it took a while before I received the email. As I said, not a big deal. I guess they roll it out gradually to keep their servers from being overloaded.

Re: reordering children in a diagram...

Thanks, Helen - I found a way around it last night (I just unlinked a relinked the youngest child, so the middle one moved into the correct place), but now understand that I can't do it in the diagram, I will remember to use the Sorting option.

Thanks again :)

reordering children in a diagram...

I was adding children to a couple via the diagram and found a daughter who was baptized after I had already added two sons - her baptism fell between the dates for her brothers, yet in the diagram, I can't move her between them. Re: Order of 'Fast Add Menu' items for Facts

Out of curiosity, where does one find this option? Thanks :) Teresa Having recntly added some fact types to the Add fact, Fast Add Menu , for ease of access, there seems no logic to the order in which they are presented! They aren't in the order they were added nor are they alphabetical. <SNIP>
