Re: Check For Possible Duplicate Media (FH7) plugin - first prototype
Ran well and fast, produced a list of duplicates as I had anticipated. Like the informative output. (Think the first run was slightly longer at 9 seconds.)

Re: Check For Possible Duplicate Media (FH7) plugin - first prototype
Ran through 8234 in 32 seconds and result set showing 44 duplicates after further 8 seconds (total 40). Mostly were parish register pages where several events were recorded so I expected these due to different names/dates so I had multiple copies of the file with differing file names A couple were i...

Re: Check for possible duplicated Media 1.4
Check for Possible Duplicated Media is meant to be a type-less file, not a folder. The .JPG extension may be the problem, so try deleting that Check for Possible Duplicated Media.JPG file and run the plugin again. Hi Mike, apologies I misunderstood (thought you were referring to the file the plugin...

Re: Check for possible duplicated Media 1.4
David, that 'Copy operation failed' error is very odd. All it is doing is copying the Media file to the FH public ProgramData file: C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\Plugin Data\Check for Possible Duplicated Media Can you please check if that file exists or not? It has no file extension. F...

Re: Check for possible duplicated Media 1.4
I have tried the versions from the Plugin store, 1.41 and 1,42 from this thread and am getting a "copy operation failed" message on, it seems, every media file. I had to cancel the plugin from the Task Manager. I did note that this plugin is likely to be withdrawn, thought I would mention ...

Residence tab in Birth Entries showing Marriage Place
Hi Nick,
I am puzzled why the Residence tab in Birth Entry is showing Marriage Place. Surely it should be showing Birth Places as on the Baptism Entry? I am sure it was in earlier versions or is my memory at fault and I am missing something?
Regards David

Re: 1939 Register
We should remember that the reason we have access to the 1939 Register is that the notion it was a Census initially was used to prevent publication. This was successfully challenged so we have access. It was not subject to the 100 year closure with restricts UK census releases.

Re: Slight Annoyance when miss-entering places/addresses
AS also includes any places, etc. you're typing into the current entry e.g. if you enter a new place into the Baptism place that place will also autocomplete in the residence fields. That causes the problem Chris is describing. Chris also mentions Addresses, Occupations, and other values. If they a...

Re: Slight Annoyance when miss-entering places/addresses
Thanks for raising this Chris. I sometimes enter something like "ENgland" - it would be good if AS could unremember it!

Re: Death certificate research question
For a death in 2003, you can only order the entry as a paper certificate (£11) from GRO or from the registration office in Kensington (who hold the original register). A digital image will not be available. The format will also be different from the example posted, having changed in 1969. Please co...

Re: Export Gedcom File to The Genealogist
Using the Export Gedcom File as Mike suggested I uploaded a new tree to The Genealogist with the following results, a big increase in individual facts/events, sources, citations and notes as would be expected. I haven't downloaded and reimported to FH7 yet.
