FHv7 via MS Windows7
I currently use FHv6 via MS Windows v7. I am considering upgrading to FHv7 but, at present, wish to stay with MS Windows v7 rather than v10 (so that I can still refer to my data on TMG). Can anyone please assure me that FHv7 will operate ok via MS Windows v7. I have searched relentlessly but can fin...

Re: Media re-input into 'reset' Sample Project of FHv6
Thanks Mike, I will see what I can do. It's a pity this 'danger' isn't made clear on page 1 of Simon Orde's Official Guide.
Many thanks for your very prompt advice. Gordon.

Media re-input into 'reset' Sample Project of FHv6
I am experimenting with inputting media (images) into the Sample Project before doing it 'for real'. I have input a particular media into the Sample Project and then subsequently reset the Sample Project. Then I have input the same media into the reset Sample Project. However FH insists on putting a...

Re: TMGv9 to FHv6 Media ID numbers
Mike, in my haste yesterday I now realise I didn't properly answer your question re 'cumbersome numbers'. All I was trying to say was that if within a fact, in the future, I refer to a media ID it will be say a four digit number whereas it could have been say a three digit number if the numbers were...

Re: TMGv9 to FHv6 Media ID numbers
Many thanks Mike.
I take your point about "why bother"; that had occurred to me. However if I don't renumber it means I'm more quickly dealing with more cumbersome ID numbers. 'Not the end of the world' I know - I may indeed not bother.

TMGv9 to FHv6 Media ID numbers
Since I imported my data from TMG to FH my media record ID's I have many gaps in the ID numbering. This has mainly come about because my media (images) were external to TMG whereas they are internal in FH where I merged the duplicate media. Is there an easy way of renumbering the images in FH so tha...

TMGv9 to FHv6- Bold Text
In a TMG v9 tag memo some of my text was in bold. Having imported my TMG data into FH v6 the same text in the Property Box Fact is not bold but appears with '[BOLD:]' before the text in question and '[:BOLD]' after the text. This tends to confuse the layout and the understanding of the text. I canno...

Re: Merging Duplicate Media
Many thanks again for your very prompt help Mike. I now realise why I was having trouble. I didn't appreciate that to 'select' an item to be merged I have to double click on it not single click even though the latter operation was highlighting it giving the impression it was ready to be merged.

Merging Duplicate Media
My media (1220 no. total) imported from TMG v 9.5 into FH v6 are in duplicate pairs of the same media (image) each with a single link to either a source or a fact. I wish to merge each duplicate pair so that I then will have one media (image) with two links, one to the source and one to the fact. I ...

Re: TMGv9.05 Exhibits (Pictures) to FHv6.2
I now realise that apparently all my exhibits/media records indeed have been imported to FH. So far as I can tell they are all displayed via Media>View All Media and are all listed via Tools> External File Links. In the Facts tab> Facts pane and clicking on a fact which is shown to have media attach...

TMGv9.05 Exhibits (Pictures) to FHv6.2
My TMG exhibits (1208 in total) are stored externally, as advised by Wholly Genes (the software cannot handle this amount internally). Within TMG I have linked each exhibit to a source and a tag (fact in FH). When I imported my TMG data into FH the exhibits (pictures in FH), as expected, did not app...

Importing TMG Sources "Supplemental" information to FH
In TMG v9.5 Sources Definition page there are four tabs. The second tab is titled "Supplemental" in which one can record the source "Recorder", "Medium", Fidelity" and whether the source was "Indexed". Having imported into FHv6.2 I cannot find this data. ...

TMG Tasks
I have imported my data from The Master Genealogist v9.05 to Family Historian v6.2. However I cannot find in FH the 'Tasks' which I had entered into TMG. 'Tasks' are reminders of possible future research and, in TMG, can be assigned to a person, event, source or repository. Any help in locating my '...
