Bookmarking a source?

I'm doing some data entry, and switching between a handful of sources. I clicked on "Add Citation" to bring up the Select Source window, and noticed that one of the icons reads "Show Bookmarks" when I hover over it. When I click on that icon, the window reads "No Bookmarked ...

Re: harmonizing TMG9 tag types with FH6 fact types

Mike, the plugin worked great! Only the "Note Red TMG" tags didn't show up, and I just entered those 6 tags manually from my TMG project. Thank you for all of your help! Have a great day!!!! Don

Re: harmonizing TMG9 tag types with FH6 fact types

The Fact Types that need to be converted from Family to Individual+Witness are listed in the attached screenshot. You've identified the seven Fact Types with exact FH analogues. The other eight Fact Types do not have an exact FH analogue. The "Immigratn" tag is almost one, but not exactly ...

Re: harmonizing TMG9 tag types with FH6 fact types

Okay, let's go with the plugin tweak. Yes, all of the target facts are in Fact Types that have "TMG" at the end of their label. Thanks! Don

Re: harmonizing TMG9 tag types with FH6 fact types

Thanks, Mike--we're getting closer. You're right in that the Import TMG Project wording of "2 principal persons AS PARENTS" is pretty awful. It should read something else. Thanks for straightening me out there. Yeah, your Migrate Census Family to Individual Events (MCFIE) plugin is pretty ...

Re: harmonizing TMG9 tag types with FH6 fact types

Hi Mike, I looked at the Knowledge Base. Doesn't look like my import did what it was supposed to for tags with multiple non-parent principals. For Burial (3), Education (1), Emigration (1), Occupation (16), Religion (15), Residence (1021) and Will (1) tags/facts with multiple non-parent principals (...

Re: harmonizing TMG9 tag types with FH6 fact types

Hi Mike: I think I've figured out the Tag/Fact issues. The reason that some of my TMG tags for which FH analogues exist (e.g., Education, Residence) didn't migrate is that the TMG Tags have multiple principals (you could do that in TMG) and the FH analogues are Individual Fact Types. The major conve...

Re: harmonizing TMG9 tag types with FH6 fact types

John, thanks for the plugin suggestion. I will give that a try. Mike, you're right that understanding the tag coordination a little better during the migration would've helped, but you're also correct that that's water under the bridge. That phenomenon occurred with several tags, actually: Burial, E...

harmonizing TMG9 tag types with FH6 fact types

I'm wrestling with dealing with TMG9 tags that are now FH6 facts. I was hopeful that relabeling my TMG/FH fact types as FH Standard Fact Set Fact Types--globally, even--would be a straightforward process. However, I don't see any way to do this other than delete every one of my 22,000 imported facts...

Re: Cleaning up my January 2017 TMG Import

With your help, I think I've got most things fixed. By the way, Mike, when I referred to GEDCOM transfer earlier, I wasn't talking about import. Rather, I was wondering whether the ability, in the future , to transfer my data would be affected by it being in custom "containers"--whether im...

Re: Cleaning up my January 2017 TMG Import

Mike, Bill, Jane, Thanks for being so gentle with me. When I got back home (I posted from a remote location this morning), I checked my notes. Indeed, MIke, I printed off the FHUG Knowledge Base document on 12/27/2016, which was only two pages long then. I did an Audit of All People in my TMG databa...

Cleaning up my January 2017 TMG Import

Hello All, 13 months ago I bought FH6 and imported my TMG 9 database of 12,700-odd individuals into it. While the FHUG Knowledge Base document on Import from The Master Genealogist would've been very helpful to me then, I didn't locate it at the time. Then I got ill :? , and retired  , and...I...

Re: Editing FH Source ID Numbers

Thanks Mike! After snooping around the Forum, I also found the Tools > Record Identifiers functionality. For my situation (because there are also a few dozen gaps in numbering of my own making, from TMG source records I merged and deleted over the years), I plan to assign my old TMG9 source numbers ...

Editing FH Source ID Numbers

Hello All, I just took the plunge and purchased FH6 as the new home for my 12,623 closest relatives, which I've been accumulating in TMG (most recently TMG9) for a decade or so. The direct import went reasonably well--it got hung up at the exhibits, which I deleted (only 3 of them, fortunately) and ...
