Re: Family group sheet report
Update: reverted to the default layout as I have the birth and death certificates for a number of people and have added details to the birth / death event, which then disappeared in my revised report.

Re: Family group sheet report
Sadly I'm never satisfied :( I don't like the places not lining up; I managed to get the gap close for the first person but the next one had a short birth date so it looks messy. I may change it to add the place name in brackets after the date as in %INDI.FAMS[1]>MARR.DATE% (%INDI.FAMS[1]>MARR.PLAC%...

Family group sheet report
Using the family group sheet report in a book, I'd like to change the position of 'birth' in the 'family member main events' section - but as it's not included in the list I can't see how to move it.... Currently I end up with name / relationship / occupation / father / mother / spouse / marriage an...

Re: Adding marriage details to a child in a family group sheet report
Will try that options thanks Mike, but stupidly I have just realised that as I have the image from the parish records I can simply add that to the relevant child instead - helps to break up a primarily text book. Apologies again. Thanks for the suggestion of the plugin :) The option will be useful w...

Re: Adding marriage details to a child in a family group sheet report
Thanks Lorna, for clarifying the dot colours. The layout work fine for the parents, I'd just like it to appear - where known - for the children not in the direct line.

Re: Adding marriage details to a child in a family group sheet report
Not quite what I was looking for - I already have the date and place details from my earlier query. This idea was to include the full details as it does in the 'family' (parents) section, but for the children as well.

Re: Adding marriage details to a child in a family group sheet report
Thanks Lorna, this isn't quite the same so apologies for not explaining fully. For baptisms of all the children (not just the direct line) i add in to the notes section 'son / daughter of x and y, occupation and address'. This appears then in my custom family groups sheet reports. But the same doesn...

Adding marriage details to a child in a family group sheet report
Morning, is it possible to show details of a marriage (as with baptism) of the children in the family? I have one family with 9 children, most of whom married in the same church so I have parish records for them, and have added the details (status, address, occupation etc) in the notes. It would be ...

Re: adding generation number to a query
Thanks Mike, as always. Not sure now where I put the post but thanks for moving it. I thought I looked at all the 'relationship' queries but clearly didn't see that sorry; i did actually get as far as entering =RelationCode but couldn't then work out what to add after that. I do backup my projects b...

adding generation number to a query
Before I go mad, please can someone tell me how to display generation numbers in a query? I have hunted through the kb and searched the forums, and read through the query chapters in the book. I created a custom query a few years ago to print a list of ancestors to add to the front of a binder of ce...

Re: Removing the border from an image
Cheers Mike, it’s not always very noticeable but this one jumped out at me so i assumed it was the photo itself, but it was ‘clipped’ from a newspaper and had no border. Not a big problem, i’ll just have to accept as one of those things.
Thanks for looking into it,
Deirdre

Removing the border from an image
Just wondering if it's possible to remove a border from an image added to a 'book'? The image - a death notice from an online newspaper - doesn't appear to have a border - see first image attached - but there is dark border when inserted into a book. Pernickety I know, but I'd like to remove it if p...

Re: Adding marriage date / place to children in a family group sheet
Just tried it with a new family group sheet on one of my larger family groups (15 children). I only get 6 here, but eg 2 names and 4 sets of () for less than 7. Not tried going onto a second expression for later children. Ignore the 'test' in the label....

Hi Mike, I tried your latest 6 child expression tonight and this is what i get..... 6 child expression2.png Here's what i get for a family of 5 children..... 5+1 child expression2.png All I did was copy and paste the expression into a new 'Children' item in the Family Member Main Items section, and ...

I had already asked if it was possible to extend the length and they have replied……

Re: Adding marriage date / place to children in a family group sheet
Thanks Mike, i have just seen a reply from CP which says….. ‘It may have exceeded the maximum length for a single field. I suggest spliting it over 2 lines and using " for the title on the second entry’ So it looks like i will have to give up on this idea, though it will work - and i will use i...

Re: Adding marriage date / place to children in a family group sheet
Hi Mike, bizarrely both your version (up to 6 children) and the one from CP (up to 5) produce the same output, and both only show the first 4 children (there are 7 in the family as posted below, shown in the 'family' section). Children options 25%.jpg Children options 6.png Thanks for suggestion of ...

Re: Adding marriage date / place to children in a family group sheet
Calico Pie have responded again offering this suggestion (not tried it yet!) Yes, as I said it is stopping output after the last valid output. You could try something like: %INDI.FAMS[1]>CHIL[1]>% =CombineText("(",LifeDates(%INDI.FAMS[1]>CHIL[1]>%)")") %INDI.FAMS[1]>CHIL[2]>% =Co...
