Thanks Mark. I have downloaded and am testing V 2.3.1
I can confirm that it lets me know if there is a duplicate UID (which occurred due to a merge).
I like the extra detail in the Research Note.

Re: Ancestry Sync plugin question
Thanks Mark! Yes, I foolishly didn't think about the consequences of merging 2 files, which meant people might end up with 2 UIDs, BEFORE I did it! (Although, I do have a backup of the 'before' state). Luckily, this particular Family Historian database is reasonably small, so it's a lesson le...

Re: Ancestry Sync plugin question
Thanks Mark. I think I'll be making a backup prior to doing anything. I have made a query to see the double-ups, but I'm wondering whether it would be UID1 or UID2 that matches up with the individual in RootsMagic. I wouldn't want to delete the wrong one. I guess I should have mentioned that I have ...

Ancestry Sync plugin question
I am using Ancestry Synchronization plugin V2.3 & FH 7.0.22. I have had to merge 2 files, and now find that, for a few hundred individuals, there are 2 UIDs. When I look in RootsMagic I cannot find any evidence of these, and am wondering if there is going to be an issue or not when I run the Anc...

Thanks for both the question and the reply. It was annoying me too, and I've found 'Awesome Cookie Manager' for Chrome which seems to work very well.

Error when running Backup and Restore plugin
Mike - not sure if this is related (if not please feel free to move to a different topic). You reminded someone to run the 'Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings' and I thought that since I hadn't done it in a while, I'd do so. I get the following error message Screenshot 2022-02-27 074421.jp...

Re: Printing descendant reports
Here's the response: Thank you for reporting this. The fact that some buttons do not display when there is little space, is not a mistake. It is by design. Everything that you can do with the buttons on the Report Window pane, you can do by clicking options on the "Report" menu (except Pri...

Re: Printing descendant reports
I registered a Support Ticket, but I have discovered something interesting (when preparing information for another issue I was going to raise). I had changed the size of the text on the Property Box to Very Large (when sharing my screen during a training session). Once this was changed back to Mediu...

Re: Printing descendant reports
I also have this issue, but only when Family Historian is on my laptop screen. As I have 2 other screens attached, I drag it up and can then have access to the buttons. But, there is no scroll down to see them, and this has definitely happened on one of the recent updates (but I don't know which one...

Re: Is FH As Good As We Think
Well said Nick. I was trying to formulate a reply, and you have covered all the points I was planning and more! I agree that the user created plugins are definitely a positive rather than a negative. One of the reasons is that I have complete control over which ones are installed or not, rather than...

Thanks Mike! I see your point. I would also like to give you a big shout-out! Re: Re-linking media files
Thanks Nick! That makes sense, and is certainly the new direction I was heading towards. I guess this is why, up until now, I have not been able to get my head around 'Ancestral Sources' at all! :D I 'did' try when I first came to FH, but it just did my head in as it was such a different approach to...

Re: Re-linking media files
Maybe I'm going to have a major re-think about how I manage all of this too. I have always added the media to the fact (for the 20 years I've been using genealogy programs that could do it), and it was the move from TMG to FH which has started me thinking about looking at it differently (due to the ...

Re: GedSite and Family Historian
Hi Nigel! Nice to see someone else using Family Historian with GEDSITE. I don't seem to have any issues with this, and for any facts I have included which have info in the Note field they have just come through to my website. It doesn't appear that it has to be included in the sentence at all. (Unle...

Re: Keep Query from being overwritten.
Thanks for this thread. I have learnt at least 2 new things for the day. I'm not sure that I had ever run the Plugin before (although I have it installed), and if I did I had no idea of the potential of being able to double-click or right-click and locate from the 'Result Set' in Query. I was also p...

I have also been having trouble with the MyHeritage hints. Some of the older ones are still there, but it just doesn't seem to be scanning for new matches.

Re: Recording DNA matches in Family Historian
I am taking a completely different approach to identify in Family Historian (1) which people have taken a DNA test (2) marking the paths of proven DNA matches back to the common ancestors. (1) I have a flag "DNA" which in diagrams switches on a DNA helix logo beneath the boxes of people t...

I know that you can keep information private by using [[ ]], but how can I keep 'some' photos private? I definitely don't want all to be private, but there are a few which I want to keep in my database, but not have print on any reports, be part of any webpage or export.
