Thanks Mike. As the file has 230+ lines I have gone down the zip route!.

Re: Individual census facts not included in report

When I started the move over from TMG to FH, GedSite was not available so I expended quite a bit of effort trying to get data over to FH in a form that allowed me to generate a website using FH's built-in " Create a Website " Publish option (in conjunction with the related Plugin), that ma...

Re: Individual census facts not included in report

I also came from TMG to FH, and am a user of GedSite. From the start in TMG I did not use the Witness options for recording Census data so am working from a different angle than you!. Having said that, I also missed the options that TMG offered that enabled me to see (on the related website) details...

Re: Ancestor calendar

If you want a Calendar rather than a straight list, the website builder GedSite gives you that option. See my site at https://genealogy.tapscott.co.uk/up/Births.htm for an example - I have separate pages for each of Births, Marriages and Deaths, but these can be combined if you wanted.

Re: FH Support Ticket System Feedback

Before I retired, I headed up the support group for one of the products of a very large financial services company. Every release was always supported by a complete report of all bugs that were fixed in the release - wherever possible (providing the clients details were not visible), the wording of ...

Re: Urgent Merge & Compare question

I believe it has something to do with the "Fast Startup" option (which is "on" by default in Windows 10). To achieve the faster start up, Windows 10 hibernates the kernal so that it can boot faster. A Restart does not do this and thus could be considered a more "complete&quo...

Re: Census entry crash

Which field on AS do you paste it in to?. I always paste it in to the "Ref ID:" field in AS and, when the record is saved to FH, this populates the "Publication Information" field - as controlled by one of the Option Settings in AS.

Actually comes in on 16th February. Standard certified copies going up to £11 each and PDF version to £7. The Priority service goes up to £35 and they are also introducing charges for "failed" searches (viz. information provided does not match records) as well as re-introducing a charge fo...

Repercussions of publishing DNA on Genealogy sites

Interesting article in The Times today. In the 1970's and 80's a man "raped, murdered and abducted his way across California" and was never caught. Last year investigators took a new look at the crimes and, as part of this, uploaded the suspects DNA to a genealogy database. There they iden...

Re: Birth, Marriage and Death information

Lorna mentioned earlier in respect of the GRO ".....Their birth index includes mother's maiden name (which is not included prior to 1911 in other indexes)....". I have noticed an increasing number of the FMP pre-1911 Birth records (GRO transcripts) also have the Mothers Maiden name in them...

Re: Which pdf reader?

Perhaps also worth noting Mike is that System Restore is, for some oddball reason, disabled on new installs of Windows 10 (certainly on my Win 10 Pro 64 Bit version), and although I regularly turn it back on, it gets disabled again when the "major" semi-annual updates occur!

Re: Ideas for Naming and sorting custom queries?

Have to say, I do reuse some queries and have them named accordingly (eg "Individuals with Fact =" and "Family with Fact =") so that I can go in and modify them to meet a current need. This came about because, as Evelyn says, you end with a very long list of Custom Queries if you...

Re: Problem with FMP Rejected Hints

I've looked back through some of the old forum posts and have found reference to something in the KB which indicates that rejecting hints using the Reject button does not result in these hints going in to your Reject list but instead they just "disappear". It's a pain, but perhaps I'll hav...

Problem with FMP Rejected Hints

Just wondering if anybody else has encountered the issue I have found this morning. In essence, the FMP Hints screen offered eight records - a number of these were quite obviously not "good" links (Death record dated before persons Birth, etc), so I hit the Reject button without even takin...

Can't say that I have had any problems with "missing" data in the auto text, although it's always been indicated that the auto-text results will frequently need some manual work before saving. What pieces are missing?

Re: Marriages

As Mike indicated, there are no spaces for the Register Date and Registrar. The latter could be input using the Associated Individuals (Witnesses) processing and both can be manually added (in AS) to the Auto-Text output. As far as as which is the best template for non-Scottish Marriages, it really ...

Re: Importing an Ancestry GEDCOM file to FH 6.2.7 with missing media links

Phil - I also use 1&1 for my website (generated via GedSite) and, originally, FileZilla for FTP but the latter also started causing me problems last last year so I switched to CyberDuck. Found this to actually be much faster than FileZilla and very easy to setup.

Re: Where is Ancestral Sources

AS is primarily for capture of Census data plus Births, Marriages, Deaths and Burials. Depending on which options you set in the AS configuration (and, in some instances, the answers you give to prompts when data is being saved), some additional Facts can optionally be created in FH - e.g. related B...

Re: clean install of Windows 10

The Installation Archive is very sound advice. I record the key / validation code, etc., for every piece of software that provides it, in a folder in my "Documents" folder and have this included in all my backup routines.
