- Create Books & Booklets
Having updated from version 6 to version 7 I was some what disappointed to discover the provision to produce a book or a printed document is currently unavailable. Is this a temporary omission or an oversight or am I missing something. After all it is in the feature list on the Family Historian 7 we...

Adding a second place to a fact
Is it possible to add a 2nd place to a Fact similar to the Immigration & Emigration facts as I have a number of people who crossed the Atlantic and returned to their home country and similarly to other parts of the world so not either true immigration nor emigration. One could apply this penal t...

Re: I Quit FH for TMG
I had been using TMG for the best part of 2 decades as part of a One Name study and now use FH Using TMG I created tags for each individual censuses ie "1851 Census" "1911 Census" "1850 USA Census" etc and now I going through and amending the censuses to more convention...

Re: From TMG into FH project by GEDCOM
Mike you are correct in that I'm merging a Gedcom file into a project. It's only after I use the merge button the ID numbers change apart from the two individuals that are matched. apart from the pair of individuals who have a 4 figure IDs the others have 3 digits I can look at the Gedcom file almos...

From TMG into FH project by GEDCOM
I am & have been a long time user of TMG and I do like FH6 and use it for new projects etc. Currently I have a web site created by John Cardinal's Second Site which for the time being I can only use TMG to update it but hopefully this will change sometime in the future with a promised Gedcom ver...

Re: Source record id - deleted numbers
Having been a TMG user for the past 15 years or so I find it mildly irritating not to be able to select unused ID numbers easily (using F2) Now when I add an individual the ID is a five figure one when I know there is 2, 3 & 4 digit ID numbers unused. Renumbering the project which is my one name...

Re: Witness in a Census Fact
Don While I use Second Site for my web site at http://scantlebury.one-name.net/p42.htm I tend to use the raw or basic data rather than the constructed sentences so that site visitors can find and see individual details almost at a glance. What I can't understand is that after importing or inputting ...

Re: Witness in a Census Fact
Like Mary I'm a TMG user and fairly new to FH & AS, and have been using the witness function in TMG which I believe is fairly fundamental as I wish to view the roles individuals played in an event. I was most impressed with the presentation that Jane gave at a Guild of One Name Studies Seminar (...

Re: Windows 10
Mike as I can see Outlook 2010 & Family Historian appeared to be affected in this manner by Windows 10 I checked the properties of other programs and well running some of them. I did have a different problem using Custodian 4 in that I had to do a quick reinstall as Windows 10 deleted part of th...

Re: Windows 10
Just found a problem with FH V6 - I couldn't save anything - access denied & one project appeared to be corrupted. I tried reinstalling but that didn't cure the problem. On further thinking (could be dangerous!) I remember that the problem seemed similar to a problem with MS Outlook 2010. So I w...

Re: V6 Fails on TMG direct import
I've now upgraded V6.0.2 the witnesses are now working fine. Now as far as I'm concerned is learning the finer points of FH and it's navigation and of course getting used to it. The next stage is how to generate and produce similar if not better than that produced by TMG/second site. and thanks you ...

Re: V6 Fails on TMG direct import
Unfortunately the "witnesses" is greyed out. Now I wonder is this because I label my witnesses as in a census as daughter, son, nephew father in law etc.

Re: V6 Fails on TMG direct import
I've just downloaded the minor upgrade to version 6 and while I can do an import direct from TMG it doesn't seem to import the witnesses so I guess it's one step at a time but it's getting there so I now need to get used to navigating the program.

Re: V6 Fails on TMG direct import
I have the same problem and it looks at the same place in the step 10 so would it be a particular type of witness?
It seems I have about 2000 witnesses
