Thanks Mervyn.
Calico Pie were right when they told me not to expect a fix this side of Christmas! That was last December.
I regret upgrading. I hope they eventually find a fix.

Re: FH v7 and windows emulators WARNING
After several months away, I thought I'd see if my previous issues had been fixed running under Crossover. They have not. Anything with tables is hopeless, with text in second/third etc columns overwriting on first column as reported previously. This also affects using the Research Log, a feature I ...

Re: FH v7 and windows emulators WARNING
Reported to Calico Pie today, further issue running under Crossover 20.0.2 (also same with v 19) using Mac OS Catalina: Choosing any source template instantly makes FH7 crash. Have to use Force Quit to exit completely. The first tab of a source/citation entry screen is always fine. Data goes where i...

Re: FH v7 and emulators WARNING
A couple of issues found when using Crossover (v19.0.2). Tables in Notes are not working. Inserting a table produces a tiny grid and typing just overwrites in same cell and then cursor leaves table entirely. Sources - Citation Data Entry: Text typed into blank fields just completely overwrites the f...

Re: FH v7 and emulators WARNING
I've just installed F7 in Crossover. It is frustrating that the reports I've so far looked at just present as black sheets. There is a warning about this on the knowledge base - things to be aware of before installing. I would use Individual Summary Reports extensively so hope this is something that...

Re: CrossOver v19
Thanks Mike. I've been an hour or two but am now sorted. I think that file I mentioned was in a list of those deleted by BitDefender anti-virus when I installed CrossOver 19 a couple of weeks back. It treated several of them as possible Trojans. CodeWeavers have issued advice on this. I decided to u...

Re: CrossOver v19
Mervyn, I've upgraded my MacOS to Catalina, and have the latest Crossover 19. When I start Family Historian I get stuck with the message "Cannot find import; DLL may be missing, corrupt or wrong version. File "MSIMG32.dll" error 126." Any ideas what steps I could try?

Re: Advice to using Historian on a Macbook Pro
Encouraging. I've been having FH crashing on me lately. But might try uninstalling and reinstalling and giving it another go. I have a quite modern MacAir with Mojave.

Combining PLACE and ADDRESS fields on Diagrams
I am in the middle of trying to clean up my messy data, aso that it is consistent. At the moment my places are a mix: some have Place and Address fields entered separately, some have all address info mixed into the Place field. I'm having a good read of previous posts on this before making up my min...

Re: FH5 running under Crossover on Mavericks - no text on report
Testing FH6 under Mojave, I too have no text on displayed reports (only images) until I choose Print Preview. So glad Mike pointed out that the reports do actually print! I hope this eventually gets sorted.

Re: London - districts, parishes, wards etc
Cary's map of London (1804) from McMaster University Library is brilliant. So clear when zoomed, with no watermarks. Can snip the bit you want quite easily. I use it a lot for exploring around Hackney area.

Re: Changing wording in Facts
Thank you Mike, that could save a lot of time. I do intend to get my head around using Narrative Reports too; but only if I master them sufficiently to make the wording less robotic. There have been really good examples already on the forums of how to do this. Meanwhile, I am aware of the shortcomin...

Re: Changing wording in Facts
Mike, I might well be changing over to using the Census fact as opposed to Residence. It was because this tree started out in Ancestry who put the events against residence automatically rather than census. I might well be starting the tree from scratch, a family at a time, to do it all consistently ...

Re: Changing wording in Facts
I echo what Bob Ward has said. I also favour Individual Summary Reports, making it easy to see a chronology of key events. At the moment I use the Note under each Residence (e.g. from the censuses 1841-1911) to put a list of a complete household: this makes it easier to follow through and see which ...

Thanks to everyone who has replied. Update. The problem now ONLY happens within Apple's own SAFARI browser. Chrome on the Mac is fine. All the Windows PCs are fine. Re: Ancestry tree problem
A slight change now. The dialog box drop down gets populated by, first, people from my address book in a little drop down menu, closely followed by another drop down with people from the Ancestry tree. Progress of a sort! Not heard back from Ancestry. Maybe a blip which they are working on.

Ancestry tree problem
If anyone else also has an Ancestry online tree, it would be useful to know if you have this problem (started happening last night) On any tree, in any person's profile, attempting to use the ADD FAMILY button on the right hand side brings up a box with an option to either Add New Person or Select S...
