Re: Printing charts on HP DesignJet printer
That's interesting. It almost worked when I moved the diagram but it just didn't quite fit within the page size that FH says it is. I found that I could either scale the diagram to 95% or increase the page size a little. So I can print charts with a bit of guesswork I am in a much better situation t...

Re: Printing charts on HP DesignJet printer
Thanks for your quick reply.
I've taken a screenshot: I did have print background on and have now disabled that. However, it made no difference.
The page boundaries ought to be close to the beginning and end of the chart and there should not be a page boundary in the middle.

Printing charts on HP DesignJet printer
Some years ago, fed up of sticking together 30 or so pages of A4 to print a Descendent wall chart, I decided to buy an HP DesignJet 111 roll printer. This prints on a paper roll 24 inches high by 150 feet long (610 mm x 45.7 M). It took a while to work out how to print charts but I got it right and ...

Re: Create a Burial Location Report
All custom Queries are saved as .fhq files in the C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\Queries\Custom\ folder. If you have never visited that C:\ProgramData\... folder before then see Family Historian Program Data Folder to discover how to reveal it, as it usually hidden and often confused wi...

Re: Create a Burial Location Report
I just installed over the existing version.
Just had a thought - Is the query a separate file? If so, perhaps I could search for queries. Would that work?

Re: Create a Burial Location Report
Hi
Since upgrading to V7, I now can't find the Burial Location query that I had so much of your help to create. I've looked in View> Queries> All Custom Queries but there is nothing there. I'm hoping that it's just hidden somewhere, or do I have to recreate it?
Thanks

Smart Matches
I was getting smart matches from FindMyPast, with whom I have a subscription. However, now I only get smart matches from MyHeritage. I checked my settings for Internet Data Matches and there is no longer a choice - it's MyHeritage or nothing. Does anyone know why this is?
Thanks

Life Dates
I am displaying Life Dates in a Descendents chart. Is it possible to add the age at death as well so that it would display, for example, 1909-1982 - 73yrs
Thanks

Re: Apps for Android
Jane I've only just seen this post and I would very much welcome Android app. I came to FH from Roots Magic and I really miss having access from my smartphone. It would be useful to be able to edit on the move. Whenever I go to family events, I currently have to print the whole thing out, and it's n...

Wall Charts as HTML
I would like to be able to add a Descendants wall chart to my family website. At present I can only make .pdf's available. I do appreciate that it is possible to generate a website, but this is not what I need. It is also possible to use one of the many GEDCOM to HTML converters, but these, so far a...

Notes field missing
Strange thing. For some individuals, there is no Notes field on the Birth Fact. Where it should be is just a space.
How can I get this back?
Thanks

Re: Adding 'Weight' to the 'Birth' fact
I've looked at your comments and have given a lot of thought as to what I want to achieve. I certainly want to store both the Hebrew name and birthdate, but I can't imagine ever wanting them to be displayed in wall charts, etc. However, I may, at some stage, want to print a report which includes the...

Re: Adding 'Weight' to the 'Birth' fact
Oh, I hadn't realise that I could enter a Hebrew date. That being the case, I don't need to add it as a note. I need the Birth fact to show the English date so I wouldn't want to mess with that. What I am going to do is to keep my existing Heb Name fact and enter the Hebrew date of Birth in that. Th...

Re: Adding 'Weight' to the 'Birth' fact
Maybe I'm trying to get too adventurous :? I now have the following labels: [[ Time: Weight: Heb Name: Heb Date: ]] and my sentence is: {individual} was born {date}< at {=GetLabelledText(%FACT.NOTE2%,"Time: ")}> {place}< weighing {=GetLabelledText(%FACT.NOTE2%,"Weight: ")}> {his/...

Re: Adding "Weight" to the "Birth" fact
Thanks. Just one more thing - I hope. I've added another two labels and it always says She or He. It looks like {Individual} makes it She or He
How can I make it say His or Her (for the additional labels)?

I've worked out how to have this apply to all records and have found that adjusts the sentence accordingly.

Re: Adding "Weight" to the "Birth" fact
Yes, that works perfectly.
Do I have to do this each time I need these facts recorded or can I add it to the Birth Fact for everyone? If I do, will the sentence look wrong if these details are not available?
Thank you.

Re: Adding 'Weight' to the 'Birth' fact
Thank you for your suggestions. I have a few follow-up questions: 1. If I were to use the first option of using the note field, would weight be the only note I could record in the Birth fact note field? The reason I ask this is that I have also recorded the time of birth: Born: 18:30 Weight at birth...

Adding 'Weight' to the 'Birth' fact
Having just entered details of a new baby in Family Historian, I realised that there was nowhere that I could add the baby's birth weight (I have previously added it as a note). I created a new fact for this but would prefer that it was included with the Birth fact. The sentence might then say, &quo...

Alternative Names
My father was the son of an immigrant to the UK and, before his marriage, he changed both his first and last name. This applies to a number of people in my family and I would like to record both the name at birth and the new name and have both (all) names displayed in reports. How can I do this? Tha...

Using Dropbox for FH data storage
Let me start by saying I appreciate this may really be a question for a Dropbox forum. However, I thought maybe someone here may have had a similar experience of using Dropbox for storing gedcom files. I decided to make a folder in my Dropbox the default storage location for all my FH files. This al...
