Re: Reinstallation of V. 6 upgrade on New Hard Drive
Thank you Valkrider and E Wilcock for your helpful and prompt replies. Valkrider - I have to blush  and say I didn't think I would need the download file... I appreciate the e_problems link and I will get in touch with Calico Pie, hoping they will be kind! Thanks again and best wishes to both....

Reinstallation of V. 6 upgrade on New Hard Drive
Hello Forum, After installing a new hard drive on my PC, I am trying to reinstall FH version 6. I have the product key for version 5, which I purchased as a CD; and also the Licence Name and Registration Key I received when I upgraded via download to version 6 in October 2016. The instructions I fou...

Re: Second Copy of Software
Many Thanks to Jane, Colin and Mike, with my sincere apologies for the delay in responding. I will put your advice into action. I have the licensing details - v. 5 was a disk and v. 6 was a download - so I guess I should be OK. I have seen an emulator in another context that worked quite well on a t...

Second Copy of Software
Hi to all at User Group, I have version 6.2.6 on my desktop and I remember that the software licence allows for the program to be loaded on a second machine. I used to have it on my laptop but that has now been wiped and passed to another user. Is it possible to install Family Historian on a Chromeb...

Can "great (x2) great-aunt" be changed to "great (x3) aunt"?
In version 6.2.2, I am preparing a standard All Ancestors tree showing relationship to root. I have been asked whether I can alter the formatting relating to great aunts and uncles. The recipient of the tree would like, for example, "great (x2) great-aunt" to be shown as "great (x3) a...

Re: Last Occupation
Dear Mike, Thank you so much for your reply. I have carried out the steps you posted. The text template expression I am using is: Occup: %INDI.OCCU[last]% %INDI.OCCU[last].DATE:COMPACT% in %INDI.OCCU[last].PLAC:TIDY% I removed the Occupation line from the custom setting and replaced with a new Occup...

Last Occupation
Using FH 6, I have created a Standard Ancestor Chart and customised content in Diagram Options to show only Last Occupation. However, it appears to be showing first occupation instead. What am I doing wrong?! Thanks very much.

Re: Browsing All Persons in Project by Focus Window
Thanks very much Mike, I see that the "next" and "previous" arrows in the Focus window work nicely once the focus option has been selected for several persons from inside the Records Window. The reason I have unrelated individuals is that I am doing a student assignment: I am sea...

Re: Extra Fact - Child's Burial
Thank you Mike, That is all extremely helpful. I have added my vote on the wish list re close family BMD events. I see what you mean about just clicking on the child entry in the main tab of the property box and I can then view the source citation. Yes, Attribute sounds better than event so I will p...

Browsing All Persons in Project by Focus Window
Hello again; I have another query please, Is there a way to browse/view focus windows for one person after another within a project by just clicking a "Next" type button? I want to use something of this nature to spot possible relationships between people who are currently "Unrelated&...

Extra Fact - Child's Burial
I have just created a new fact "Child's Burial" and added "place" to the suggested code, for when I want to see that the main fact I have so far about a person is that one of their children was buried and where. The resulting text is: {individual} experienced {label} {date} {plac...

Thanks very much to Adrian and Mike for clear and helpful replies. I will probably keep them separate and look at that Associated Persons download. And thanks, I have got AS but didn't know about the plug-in so I shall get that too...

When a daughter might be the bride...
Hi guys, I am entering a number of 18th century CMBs and I have found several common christian name baptisms, e.g. Mary Gingell bap. 1753, that may or may not be one of a number of grooms/brides of the same name that I have already entered for later dates e.g. Mary Gingell marr. 1770. Until things a...
