Yes, if you could add a "right click" element into your proposal, that would be great
I feel it would improve FH usability in a fairly intuitive way.
Thanks for all your work on this.

Re: Adding a blank line after a note field in Narrative Reports?
Great solution Mike - much appreciated!
I'd not realised I could add the {note} field into the sentence template.
Thanks

Adding a blank line after a note field in Narrative Reports?
Apologies is this is a simple question, but it has stumped me. I'm generating Narrative reports with the "Inc. Event/Attr Notes" option selected. I would like a blank line after each note (ie so it is separate from the following text), but can't find a way to do this (apart from adding a c...

Re: Marriage Ages
Hi
I was also curious about ages at mariage in my tree, so I used the existing query already set up in FH:
Query button dropdown to display the menu
Ages and birthdays
Age at Marriage (all)
It displays age at first, second and third marriages.
Hope this helps

Re: Check For Possible Duplicate Media (FH7) plugin - first prototype
Hi Mark
Thanks for the suggestion - I created a temporary Project using my existing GED file.
The plugin ran perfectly and picked up a few duplicates, which I checked and confirmed.
A really useful plugin, thanks!

Re: Check For Possible Duplicate Media (FH7) plugin - first prototype
Hi I've arrived late to the party on this interesting thread.... I just tried the new Plugin (thanks Mike for all your work), but it says it only works on FH Projects. My work isn't in a Project structure (I appreciate folks will have opinions on whether it should be). Could the Plugin be tweaked to...

Re: Better ways to find where records are used
Hi Mike I've never had the need to look up multiple records, so the right click menu option would be the simplest navigation for me. I see this as a quick navigation option in addition to a "where used" button (the button could be made to support multiple record selection if people need th...

Re: Better ways to find where records are used
Excellent suggestions as this area of FH navigation has always struck me needing improvement. I would find it really helpful if "Where used" (or similar wording) was an option on the 'right-click' context menu when a record is highlighted in the records screen (Individuals / Notes / Source...

V7.0.22 download failed
Hi
I'm on 7.0.21 and I clicked the prompt to upgrade to 7.0.22.
Download proceeds until perhaps 90%, then stops with 'Download failed'. Tried it six times with the same result.
Is there a known problem, or if not, is there a direct URL I can try for the download?
Thanks
Andrew

Re: Backup and Restore via Windows: Witness Roles question
Hi both I'd missed the subtlety of any debatable banter - all went whizzing over my head! To summarise - I still think there is a "feature" lurking in "Backup and Restore Family Historian via Windows v1.2.1". Everything ran as expected with Backup and Restore Family Historian v3....

Re: Backup and Restore via Windows: Witness Roles question
Before we get too carried away, the video referee has to intervene - did you select the "Discard any changes..." option when restoring using the Windows plugin? If you didn't, this is exactly the scenario I described above. The backup file is older so will not overwrite the newer file on ...

Re: Backup and Restore via Windows: Witness Roles question
OK, I've tested with both the old and new Plugins - and got different results! 1. Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings v3.5 2. Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings via Windows v1.2.1 The "via Windows" plugin didn't restore my Death fact witness roles. The other Plugin did. ...

Re: Backup and Restore via Windows: Witness Roles question
That would certainly seem to confirm that the Fact Set has a global System scope. So that leaves the question why the Backup & Restore via Windows plugin does not copy it across to the other PC. A stab in the dark, begs the question, are you sure the correct backup file is being copied to and r...

Re: Backup and Restore via Windows: Witness Roles question
Thanks Mike The way to differentiate Project local from System global Facts Sets is to use Tools > Fact Types... then click the Fact Sets... button and check the Scope of each Fact Set. Project Fact Sets always take precedence over System Fact Sets. Using "Death" event as an example, it's ...

Re: Backup and Restore via Windows: Witness Roles question
Hi Mark Sorry I missed a couple of your questions: OK, we can rule that one out. What about my other question please - did you modify the standard Death fact or clone it to create a custom version that you then edited? Once I know exactly what you did, I can try to replicate it. No - it's the standa...

Re: Backup and Restore via Windows: Witness Roles question
Hi Mike I'm not sure of the technical way to confirm "local" or "global", but I created a new Gedcom on the source PC and checked if the witness roles I'd created in my original Gedcom showed up. They did, so I'm assuming that means they are global and not limited to a particular...

Backup and Restore via Windows: Witness Roles question
Hi Great Plugin and very helpful for me to bring my FH customisations over to a new new PC. I think I may have discovered a small glitch and hope it is helpful. On my source PC I have defined various witness role types - eg "Informant and Present at death" and defined sentences to go with ...

Re: Combining .jpg files together
I've used Irfanview quite a bit and it's a brilliant program. However, when saving as PDF I don't think it runs OCR to make the PDF searchable. To make a searchable PDF I've used this free program: https://www.naps2.com/ ("Not another PDF scanner"). Whilst it is a scanner program (which I ...

I find Irfanview (free) the simplest way to extract images from a multi-page PDF https://www.irfanview.com/ (Download and install the application AND the plugins) Fire it up then OPTIONS - PROPERTIES/SETTINGS and click "PDF Options". Tick the the box to use the PDF plugin. Open your PDF (e...
