Re: Showing life dates of person in custom report header

Thanks Lorna. I have tried that but it doesn't work in the "Page Layout" header field. I have tried many combinations including =Record()LifeDates2())). Using =Record() does put the person's name in the header, but I have been unable to find a formula that adds the Life Dates after the name. Best re...

Showing life dates of person in custom report header

I have produced a custom report and in the "Report Options" fields under the "Page Layout" section I have a header field "=Record()" that shows the persons name as a header - e.g. WILLIAM BROWN. I would like to add their life dates against their name in this header but despite trying various options...

Hiding line wording in reports if no data present

I am wondering if it is possible to hide (omit) wording in reports if no data is present in that field. For example in an Individual Summary Report, where it includes the lines "Father" and "Mother", is it possible to omit these lines if no names are known for them. Thanks. Richard Whitchurch-Bennett

Listing people that have a particular source type

Is it possible to produce a list containing only individuals against whom a particular source is given. e.g. list everyone that has for example PROBATE as a source in their record. Thanks.

Re: Exporting to Ancestry

Thanks Mike. My DNA and an old family tree are on Ancestry so I would like to update this. I have had major problems in the past doing so (messages files not recognised by Ancestry, etc) and as aged computer novice, I was wondering if a a step by step guide to be available on the FHUG. Not sure I un...

Merging Source Records

Rather stupidly I have set up and used two Source Records with the same name, i.e. 1841 Census. I have allocated data against each of these and now wish to merge them so that I end up with only one "1841 Census" Source Record to allocate future data against. Is it possible to do this? Thanks for any...

Re: Synch FH on two Laptops

Thank you so much Mike for your quick reply to my query. I will take a look at the areas you suggest before progressing further. Is there a recommended cloud storage that works well with FH - I have a lot of my research files on Google Drive but am reluctant to use that for FH because of my past pro...

Synch FH on two Laptops

I now have two laptops that I would like to automatically synchronise with the latest added records. I used Google Drive in the past but had a lot of problems so stopped using it. Can anyone recommend where and how I can hold my FH data so that I can access it on either laptop. Thanks.

Re: FH 6.2.5 crashing problem

It seems from all the recent comments that something adverse is happening with the 6.2.5 version of the program over the past couple of weeks. Maybe this should be investigated by the technical team as several people are experiencing problems with the program crashing.

Re: FH 6.2.5 crashing problem

Have had the same error message many times apart from my latest program crashing with Google Drive. Very frustrating especially when a lot of data has been added before the crash.

Re: FH 6.2.5 crashing problem

Re two files.... this is because I only managed to take the screen shots in the 2017 file before it crashed completely. I had to re-open as 2018 and then when that crashed again, I took the other screen shot. Bit confusing, but the same problem.

FH 6.2.5 crashing problem

You may have seen my topic "How to recover etc" posted yesterday following a program crashing problem. The crash has happened three times this evening whilst adding notes to my file and saving. Error messages attached. Note in image 3 that the file "last updated" date has automatically become 01/01/...

Re: How to recover a gedcom file after FH apparent crash??

Hi Mike The only option that would work for me was the Knowledge Base Backup & Restore option. Sadly the exact problem has just happened again whilst entering data. Very frustrating. I hope to be able to catch the initial error message if and when it happens again, as clearly there is an underlying ...
